We are currently seeking a recent graduate to join our diverse Contracts and Procurement team in our Covent Garden Head Office delivering world-changing projects.

Position Summary

Bechtel offers an exciting programme that will be tailored to a career in contracts and procurement. The successful candidate will receive:

  • Structured supervision from Regional Contracts and Procurement Manager and Senior Contracts Administrator.
  • Opportunity to join the mentoring program

The successful candidate will enjoy working in a dynamic and fast paced environment to provide commercial support and assist in the management of contracts for major infrastructure works. The work will involve coordination across various teams, projects and the supply chain plus design, construction, project controls and legal teams to issue tenders and manage contracts.

You will receive significant early exposure to Bechtel’s infrastructure leadership team.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop a broad skillset gaining experience in multiple sectors including renewable energy, rail/metro systems, urban developments, airports, and highways.


Typical Responsibilities

  • Support Regional Contracts and Procurement Manager across UK, Ireland and EAMS in a range of activities covering resourcing, business development and project execution and corporate governance
  • Support Contracts & Procurement initiatives across a range of activities including reporting, training, audits, compliance assessment and risk reviews
  • Prepare tender documentation and participate in full bid, evaluate commit cycle of awards
  • Administer allocated contracts / purchase orders and execute changes, certify payments and maintain relationship with sellers and subcontractors
  • Assist senior contracts team in managing internal and external stakeholders to proactively mitigate risks and resolve disputes
  • Maintain register of home office subcontracts and issue monthly status report to stakeholders
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives aligned to company development needs


Skills and Qualifications

  • Interest in supply chain management, quantity surveying or commercial aspects of construction projects
  • Degree in Business, Quantity Surveying, Law, Engineering, or Construction Management useful but not essential. Applications from other disciplines welcomed
