Description

This position requires extensive travel within the U.S. and will work both in supplier facilities verifying fabrication activities and with project personnel, problem solving, performing root cause analysis, data analysis, and debottlenecking in the supply chain.

 

Typical Duties on Project

  • Issue surveillance assignments and/or capability assessment assignments and monitor expenditures against an approved budget.
  • Review, edit, and distribute reports after approved by a level 2 PSQR, within the limits established by the Project Supplier Quality Supervisor (PSQS), in accordance with project requirements prior to distribution.
  • Distribute reports and correspondence in compliance with project document control procedures.  Return unacceptable reports for necessary corrections.
  • Facilitate communication between on and off project personnel across various disciplines.
  • Communicate project direction to Supplier Quality Representative (SQR) and coordinate between Supplier Quality Representative and project personnel ti assist in resolving technical and quality issues arising from area/shop Supplier Quality activities.
  • Research and summarize data and populate established project and/or procedural performance metrics.

 

Typical Activities off Project

  • Under close supervision, provide quality surveillance at supplier or manufacturer shops for purchases of constructed equipment and materials that are basic or simple in nature.
  • Witness examinations and test performed by supplier personnel to written procedures or industry standards.
  • Verify supplier perforrmance of visual and dimensional inspection to drawings and procurement document requirements.
  • Perform visual/dimensional inspection to drawings or standards.
  • Review supplier-prepared documents for conformance to industry standards, written procedures, and procurement document requirements.
  • Work with the assigned Supplier to facilitate closure of open issues generated on assignments.
  • Report results of surveillance activities to include inspection/examination/test results.
  • Issue final surveillance and release for shipment of materials/equipment.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited college or university within the past 12 months or within the next 12 months.
  • Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project job sites.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior co-op or internship experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of coordinating with other technical disciplines.
  • Exposure/knowledge of design guides, mathematical formulas, and design calculations used in the discipline.
