Project Overview:

Bechtel is seeking to work with a major Indian corporation to provide Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services for a multi-billion-dollar renewables and its infrastructure project in India. The PMC Services will be led out of India with personnel deployed in Mumbai region. 

 

Job Summary:

Bechtel Global Logistics (BGL) is seeking a project Logistics Supervisor based in Mumbai, India to support the above project. The home office – Logistics Supervisor will be responsible to supervise logistics personnel and assist the Logistics Manager to manage the logistics responsibilities on project, within the Supply Chain organization of a global business unit, and/or within corporate Bechtel Global Logistics (BGL) function. The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for a large sized Project, supporting a moderate sized team. Some travel may be required at the request of the Project Supply Chain Manager, Project Logistic Manager or BGL Corporate Logistics Manager.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that project work is supported with appropriate Logistics staff and approves all Logistics proposal deliverables
  • Supports client as a Logistics technical, estimating, operations, chartering or commercial role supporting a moderate/large sized project with a complex scope as a deployed, dedicated resource in the home office.
  • Supports client in performing domestic and international multi-leg shipment responsibilities in support of project requirements to ensure the safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods to meet project requirements
  • Support Coordination of shipments on client's behalf, when requested, with requisite internal and external entities
  • Ensures entry and quality of shipment tracking data into project Transport Management System (TMS) and other functional systems/tools to provide visibility shipment status.
  • Support client in prepares logistics reports or performance metrics as required to satisfy project information requirements.
  • Ensures audit and processing of Clients Logistics Service Provider invoices in accordance with project procedures  
  • Identifies potential transport cost and service alternatives to support Client materials/equipment purchase decisions and use of Clients Logistics Service Providers
  • Assists the project Logistics Lead as requested with capacity to provide short-term leadership
  • Supports client in implementing their process for Client Logistics Service Provider claims
  • Supports client when requested to prepare and present Logistics service provider bid tabs, commitment authorizations, and contract documents for approval by project and or client management.  
  • Prepares logistics studies including site and Client Logistics Service Provider facility visits, on behalf of Client.
  • Integrates safety requirements and measures in all logistics activities

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 to 10 years of relevant experience or 12 to 14 years of relevant work experience.  
  • Home, Field and deployed project experience preferred.
  • Chain of Responsibility (CoR)/ Transport Assurance proficient knowledge
  • Experience with large scale projects and/or Infrastructure/Renewable projects highly regarded

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in speaking and writing English
  • Knowledge of India (country) importing and exporting formalities and processes Knowledge of domestic and international trade and delivery terms, 
  • Knowledge of industry packing, making, and shipping requirements
  • Knowledge and practical understanding of Incoterms (2020)  
  • Career-level position within field. 
  • Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline. 
  • A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization. 
  • Capable of resolving a wide range of issues in creative ways.
  • Commercial and contractual acumen
