Project Overview:
Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come. This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations at 10 CFR Part 810 (Part 810), which govern the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will support the administration of the survey work request program. You will assist drone pilots with inspecting equipment and completing pre and post flight checklists. You will calibrate survey instruments, review computations, prepare drawings, and provide technical support. Your work will ensure the accurate layout of construction work, data accuracy, and efficiency of survey activities.
Major Responsibilities:
- Supports the survey team’s implementation of the project safety, quality, and environmental programs
- Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely
- Ensures work methods planned and executed safely
- Draws field sketches and As-built drawings
- Supports Field Engineering in preparation of Non-conformance reports, Design Change Notices and Request for information
- Supports in coordinating and resolving engineering, and construction problems with Superintendents or other project personnel
- Reviews project design and engineering documents, model, and model data to ensure their completeness and readiness for safe layout and verification
- Prepares Survey calculations and Survey Reports for all project disciplines/scope
- Supports Field and office training program
- Supports measuring and test equipment (M&TE) process
- Supports Projects weekly/monthly equipment collimation requirements
- Supports Survey Equipment maintenance process and maintains calibration logs
- Prepares daily progress reports, periodic photographic progress reports and keeps supervisor informed on progress of assigned tasks
- Utilises and leverages applicable software and processes
- Maintains and processes Monitoring and Settlement data
- Coordinates and maintains Survey Work Request with Survey Field personnel or craft professionals.
- Arrange document control latest revisions
- Develops core understanding of ES&H CPs
- Validates subcontractor survey submittals
- Supports in Excavation Permits and subsurface Utility coordination
- Supports Importing and exporting survey data (CSV, TXT, DWG, DXF, IFC or field book format).
- Maintain Layer Management and CAD Standards
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Proactively considers continuous learning or shows interest in pursuing appropriate learning activities
- Maintains the project Survey "As-Built" model.
- Supports Cut/fill analysis between existing and proposed surfaces.
- Supports in creating survey CAD drawings, including topographic features such as breaklines, spot elevations, and contours, as well as generating Digital Terrain Models (DTMs) and performing volume computations
- administers the survey work request program and survey data
- Supports field data inspections of commodity installation readiness (Pre-pours and post-pours)
- Examines the accuracy of Field data and collection methods process
- Provides technical support as related to survey to Field Engineering and Superintendents in a wide range of situations and configurations.
- Prepares Survey Reports for all project disciplines/scope
- Maintains Project Survey Control Network operation (TS, Level Loops, GNSS)
- Demonstrates full knowledge of field Survey operations
