Project Overview:
Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come. This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations at 10 CFR Part 810 (Part 810), which govern the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas.
Job Summary:
Assigned to the Poland projects as an Indirects Field Engineer supporting balance of plant and non-permanent plant infrastructure and utility systems, ensuring timely installation, coordination, and compliance across multiple disciplines.
Major Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supporting field construction Indirect Superintendents and craft professionals within the Poland indirect accounts.
- Sourcing materials and equipment, issuing field material requisitions using Digitals Supply Chain System (DSCS)
- Implements construction processes to support indirects site services scopes of work which includes support all temporary offices, warehouses, lay down yards and shops, roads, parking areas, and project site maintenance
- Coordinate with multiple discipline superintendents to plan efforts and activities to meet project goals
- Tracking construction equipment and vehicles to include rentals, usage, and maintenance
- Develop and complete inspection and test reports for various construction activities including concrete placements, site backfill notifications, and site excavations notices
- Ensures all indirect work processes are compliant with project requirements and applicable regulatory codes and standards
- Ensures Temp facilities and structures meet site/project requirements and are properly maintained
- The candidate provides input into operational plans to support construction execution
- Provide clear and precise verbal and written communications

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Typically requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
- Must be able to obtain a site security badge for access to the worksite.
- Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs which may require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, using fall protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE), walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, and manoeuvring around very small and/or confined spaces
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge and experience of EPC construction and/or commercial nuclear construction projects is required.
- Must have working knowledge of the Bechtel Standard Work Processes Procedures (SWPPs) and the related Bechtel Standard application Programs (BSAPs).
- Candidates should be self-starters, highly motivated, requiring little supervision, and able to work well in a team environment.
- The candidate should have a good working knowledge of current design codes and standards such as ACI, AISC, ASME, as well as NQA-1 requirements.
- Familiarity with nuclear quality and commercial practice standards is desired.
- The candidate provides input into development of the strategy and engineering packages to support construction execution.
- Provide clear and precise verbal and written communications with design engineers to assist with the project reviews.
- Must be familiar with and have working knowledge of the BSAPs Construction Automation work processes.
- Understanding of the engineering deliverables and training of others.
