Project Overview:

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility.  This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come. This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations at 10 CFR Part 810 (Part 810), which govern the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas.

Job Summary:

The Training Coordinator reports to the Project Training Manager and supports the planning, coordination, and administration of project training program including inductions, and skills and competency assurance activities to ensure all personnel meet project, regulatory, and nuclear quality requirements prior to and during Project execution.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate delivery of project training in line with Project requirements and the Training & Development Management Plan.
  • Administer the Verification of Competency (VOC) program and coordinate Project‑approved competency assessments using qualified SMEs or approved third‑party providers.
  • Ensure training, qualification verification, and competency activities comply with Polish statutory requirements, EU regulations, and project governance.
  • Review and verify personnel qualifications, licences, and certifications for role‑specific training requirements.
  • Maintain and adapt training programs and materials to align with industry practice and project phases.
  • Deliver project training where appropriately qualified and within approved scope.
  • Coordinate training scheduling, attendance, and recordkeeping within Project‑approved systems, maintaining accurate and audit‑ready records.
  • Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure training and competence requirements are understood and completed.
  • Support mandatory, refresher, role‑specific, and Project‑sponsored upskilling programs.
  • Support audits, inspections, reporting, and monitoring of training and VOC compliance, escalating risks impacting mobilisation or work execution.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
  • Qualification or certification in Training & Assessment, Workforce Development, Adult Education, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.


 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience supporting training, induction, onboarding, and skills assurance on large construction, infrastructure, energy, or industrial projects.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Polish.
  • Working knowledge of Polish and EU training, competency, and qualification frameworks.
  • Experience managing training records, attendance, and compliance using workforce or HR systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to operate in multicultural, multi‑contractor environments.
  • Compliance‑focused, audit‑ready mindset, with the ability to work within structured procedures and governance frameworks.

 

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Training and assessment qualification recognised under Polish/European Qualification Framework or demonstrated competence as an approved trainer or assessor.
  • Experience in a construction discipline and/or within regulated or safety‑critical environments such as nuclear, energy, or heavy industry.
