Project Overview:

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility.  This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come. This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations at 10 CFR Part 810 (Part 810), which govern the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas.

Job Summary:

The Contract Administrator supports the delivery of contract and subcontract management activities for the Poland AP1000 Nuclear Project. The role is responsible for administering assigned subcontracts and purchase orders of low to moderate complexity, ensuring contractual requirements are implemented accurately and in accordance with project procedures and corporate governance frameworks.

 

Working under the guidance of senior contract management, the Contract Administrator coordinates with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support subcontract formation, administration, change management, and close‑out activities. The role contributes to effective commercial control, compliance, and risk management while gaining experience across complex EPC project environments.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Administers assigned subcontracts and service agreements in accordance with project requirements, company policies, and delegated authority.
  • Supports subcontract formation activities, including preparation of bid documentation, coordination of bid processes, commercial evaluations, and administrative support to negotiations and awards.
  • Reviews subcontract documentation to ensure scope, commercial terms, and contractual requirements are clearly defined and aligned with approved requisitions.
  • Assists with the management of subcontract changes, variations, and amendments, maintaining accurate records and supporting negotiation and settlement activities as directed.
  • Maintains subcontract files, correspondence, financial status reports, and logs to ensure accurate commercial tracking and audit‑ready records.
  • Coordinates with Construction, Engineering, Project Controls, Procurement, Legal, and Risk Management to support effective subcontract execution and interface management.
  • Supports compliance with Bechtel policies, IWPP, project procedures, and applicable regulatory and export control requirements.
  • Assists with subcontract close‑out activities, including reconciliation, documentation review, and completion certification.
  • Contributes to internal reviews, audits, and lessons‑learned activities related to contract and subcontract administration.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting subcontract administration on EPC, infrastructure, or construction projects.
  • Experience in regulated or technically complex environments (e.g. energy, infrastructure, nuclear) is preferred.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Contract & Subcontract Administration Experience
    Practical experience administering subcontracts and service agreements, including document control, compliance tracking, and close‑out support.
  • Commercial Awareness & Attention to Detail
    Ability to understand contractual terms, identify issues, and maintain accurate commercial records in support of risk and cost control.
  • Change & Documentation Management
    Experience supporting variations, amendments, and related documentation in accordance with contractual and procedural requirements.
  • Cross‑Functional Coordination
    Effective communicator able to work with Construction, Engineering, Project Controls, Procurement, Legal, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Governance & Policy Understanding
    Working knowledge of EPC contracting practices and corporate governance frameworks (e.g. IWPP), with the ability to apply procedures consistently.
