Bechtel is seeking a Senior Human Resources Lead for Los Pelambres job site. In the role, you will act as a strategic partner with Project management and perform a variety of Human Resources activities; supporting, implements, monitors and evaluates progress or results of Human Resources policies and programs.

 

Job Responsibilities. 

  • Implement Human Resources policies, procedures and programs; evaluates progress and results of Human Resources programs and recommends changes when necessary.
  • Provide advice and counsel to Project line management on Human Resources policies involving: salary administration, performance management, staffing, work visa administration strategy, emergency/contingency actions, accreditation, diversity and inclusion, equal employment opportunities / affirmative action, etc.
  • Develop Project Procedures as: vacations, training, medical leave, job site visit-trips, emergency and contingency actions for non-manual employees.
  • Analyses various aspects of the employment cycle (hires, promotions, transfers and terminations), designs applicable reporting systems and recommends methods to reduce turnover and increase organizational effectiveness.
  • Active participation in project recruitment and selection processes for the project, individual and panel interviews, contracting processes and transfers to field.
  • Generate strategic ties with local labor sources, participates in the Interview to applicants and refers candidates as required and follow up hiring process with a 90 - 120 days look ahead reports in order to ensure on - time hiring according to staffing plan goals and critical needs for construction needs
  • Mobilization and accreditation follow up. Works together with the "Accreditation Team” to ensure on-time mobilization to job site for all non-manual employees. Analyses process efficiency for diverse procedures
  • Participate and lead the employee relations issues and ensures resolution of employee grievances.
  • Develop and conduct programs or seminars responsive to organization’s needs on current changes in Human Resources policies and/or management techniques.
  • Set up demobilization criteria’s within project and staffing managers as required.
  • Coordination of various administrative tasks such as altitude exams, activation of user accounts, participation in inductions , jobsite onboarding and mandatory trainings, etc.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated experience in a generalist or business partnership HR roles at engineering or mining companies.
  • Previous experience  in EPC or EPCM projects
  • Extensive Chilean Labor Law knowledge and management of legal requirements affecting Human Resources administration.
  • Experience in several Human Resources disciplines (Benefits, Compensation, EEO, Employment, Immigration, Records, Learning & Development, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience and skills conducting research’s, investigating alternative solutions and outlining action to be performed.
  • Demonstrated skills in the preparation and presentation of oral and written reports for management
  • Advanced to Bilingual English proficiency
  • Availability to do rotations at jobsite

 

Other Qualifications

  • Desirable Bechtel Experience and knowledge of Bechtel’s organizational structure, Human Resources policies and procedures.

Position for Los Pelambres Project in Santiago and then on Site, Chile.

Salary will be based on current market rates and the posted grade will not be adjusted to suit the successful candidate.
