Job Overview:

The ESH Specialist supports the implementation of ESH management programs, systems and processes; provides the technical input to environment, safety and health activities; and provides the support for a specific area to be successful in controlling the risk of harm to people, property and the environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively supports field teams in the implementation of the ESH program
  • Monitors the implementation of the ESH program and reports successes and areas of improvement
  • Openly communicates with field leaders and Senior ESH Specialists on field ESH matters
  • Maintains a working relationship with workers, team leaders and other ESH team members
  • Participates in worker meetings to identify and report on ESH requirements
  • Supports field leaders to investigate incidents in their area
  • Assists in the implementation of activities that directly reduce risk

Essential Skills:

  • Intermediate level of written and verbal communication
  • Attributes that openly display ESH as a personal value

 

Experience and Grade Determination:

Grade 23

Grade 24

  • Bachelor degree or higher in an ESH discipline; or
  • 1 to 2 years of ESH experience in the industrial construction or heavy engineering industry; or
  • 1 to 2 years in a construction discipline (eg. cranes, rigging, scaffolding, ironwork, electrical, fabrication, civil)
  • Bachelor degree or higher in an ESH discipline; or
  • 3 to 5 years of ESH experience in the industrial construction or heavy engineering industry; or
  • 3 to 5 years in a construction discipline (eg. cranes, rigging, scaffolding, ironwork, electrical, fabrication, civil)
