The project scope includes planning, design, integration and delivery of major airfield infrastructure, buildings, systems and associated periphery infrastructure 

Job Summary:

The Quality Manager is at the heat of the programme, responsible for leading and managing all aspects of quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) across design, procurement, and construction phases. 

"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develops, maintains, and verifies implementation of the project quality assurance framework and associated program/plan, for an assigned project.   
  • Directs quality activities and their effective implementation, communicating with engineering, commercial, construction, administrative services, and other project personnel to ensure management goals and objectives are met.   
  • Reviews and oversees qualityrelated procedures to ensure compliance with the quality program/plan.   
  • Ensures new or revised regulatory requirements are reviewed and, following appropriate change management, incorporated into the quality program/plan.   
  • Develops, integrates and manages the Bechtel internal audit plan and the program audit plan.  
  • Supervises and participates in the auditing and monitoring program to verify the effectiveness of the quality program/plan and enable the timely mitigation of technical and program/project risks.   
  • Drives the continuous improvement and institutionalisation of lessons process.   
  • Manages, and reports on, the project corrective action system.  
  • Represents the PMO during quality assurance audits conducted by the customer, management, regulatory agencies, and other project stakeholders.  
  • Leads the process for onboarding of Bechtel and customer personnel to the program quality management system.  

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and demonstrated experience integrating organisational quality systems.
  • Proven ability to work within and adapt to client-established quality frameworks and governance processes.
  • Demonstrated experience managing QA/QC across multidisciplinary design and construction programmes. 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Previous experience with Bechtel  
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent professional accreditation. 
  • Certified Lead Auditor (ISO 9001) or equivalent qualification. 
  • Experience working with airport or regulated infrastructure quality systems, ideally within UK frameworks.
