We are currently recruiting for long term career professionals, with an initial assignment supporting Telecommunications projects across the UK. Bechtel has been selected as a Delivery Partner on a £4 Billion programme to bring high speed internet connectivity to communities. The core focus is to deploy next generation fibre infrastructure across the public sector, businesses, mobile operators, and homes. These projects are key to improving connectivity for millions of people and boosting economic productivity in the long-term.

Role Overview:


  • Reviews, develops and optimises Build Partners’ (BP) project plans to safely achieve productivity targets.
  • Conducts holistic reviews of BPs’ activities and recommends prioritization of key activities to drive improvement within the BPs’ organisation to the productivity targets.
  • Coaches and educates the Build Partners on what good looks like in terms of delivering construction activities to the productivity targets.
  • Reviews, develops and optimises BPs’ construction schedule to ensure sequencing to meet the project baseline with interdependencies clearly mapping.
  • Reviews, develops and optimises BP’s project resourcing plans to ensure ramp up / down of resources and the right skill mix to support the construction schedule.
  • Undertakes problem-solving activities within a BPs’ organization to highlight and unlock blockers to construction performance.
  • Reviews SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality) risks and mitigation measures to ensure compliance to relevant standards and guidelines.
  • Reviews standard engineering details and specifications for constructability and conformance to regulatory requirements and achievement of productivity targets. 
  • Reports BP performance to the Central Build Office and other CityFibre departments as required.
  • Supports the BP in the rollout and implementation of improvement initiatives.
  • Supports constructability reviews and joint survey walkdowns. 
  • Captures and communicate lessons learned / best practise around the Build teams
  • Support BPs’ with developing key relationships with stakeholders including CityFibre internal teams and external partners. 
  • Will be required to relocate for majority of working week to Build Partners premises to support programme development activities (all appropriate expenses will be reimbursed)


Basic Qualifications:


  • Recognised degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, or specialized courses in construction management.
  • Demonstrated flexibility to respond to urgent project requests and/or changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people of varied backgrounds and objectives.
  • Thorough knowledge of all phases of construction operations relating to SHEQ, engineering, construction and field activities. 
  • Thorough knowledge of construction technologies, logistics and jobsite management. 
  • Thorough knowledge of directing planning and scheduling, including schedule development, control, and analysis.
  • Expert knowledge in use of commercial Programming/planning tools such as P6 & MSP.
