Project Overview:

Bechtel is pursuing a significant new award of work in Egypt. The Project will cover the development of luxurious residential, commercial, and recreational spaces, tourism amenities, and economic zones. If successful, Bechtel’s contract for the delivery of this project will be for project management and construction management services. 

Job Summary:

Bechtel is looking for a Senior Supply Chain Manager who will be responsible for leading the development and execution of strategic procurement and contracting initiatives across the program. This role serves as a key interface with the supply chain, senior client stakeholders and internal leadership, ensuring alignment of supply chain strategies with project delivery goals, market dynamics, and customer expectations.

 

This position is contingent upon project award and customer approvals. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation and implementation of programme-wide supply chain strategies, including early contractor involvement (ECI) and market-responsive procurement models.  Provide strategic insights to the senior leadership and the customer on procurement risks, market trends, and delivery model selection.
  • Develop and maintain Supply Chain Assignment Schedules (SCAS) and packaging strategies in collaboration with engineering, construction, and project controls.
  • Participates with proposal teams in defining and developing the scope of Procurement and Contracts work, and in preparing and coordinating Procurement & Contracts plans, procedures, schedules, estimates, forecasts, and budgets. Accountable for work product to project milestones, quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to integrate automation tools and data-driven decision-making into procurement workflows.
  • Ensure transparency, fairness, and accountability across all procurement activities in line with Bechtel’s ethical standards.
  • Lead logistics planning and execution across all phases of the supply chain lifecycle.
  • Ensure logistics operations are aligned with project delivery schedules and sustainability goals, particularly across strategic infrastructure scope. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Construction Management or related field or equivalent experience. 
  • 20+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, logistics and contract management, preferably in infrastructure or megaprojects.
  • Prior experience in the MENA region is highly desirable.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Deep understanding of global market dynamics, procurement models, and contract law.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities across diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with proven ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in digital supply chain systems and data-centric execution models.
  • Demonstrated experience and courses in pricing, contract law, contract drafting, administration and negotiation of change orders, effective correspondence, planning and scheduling ·   
  • Working knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting, purchasing, and material management practices, applicable government and commercial regulations and practices, and Bechtel policies, procedures and work practices 
  • Possesses experience and knowledge of commercial management functions and work experience of a progressively responsible nature
