Project Overview:

Coroccohuayco:

Located in the Espinar region of Cusco, Coroccohuayco is part of the extension plan for the operations of the current Antapaccay mine, one of the most important copper deposits in the country. The project consists of the development of the engineering and construction of the mine facilities around the new Coroccohuayco open pit that include a primary crusher, a conveyor belt and the expansion of the Antapaccay and Tintaya concentrator plants, each of which includes the incorporation of a new ball mill, flotation cells, remilling mills, concentrate filters and energy transmission and distribution systems.

Job Summary:

In this position the candidate will be required to have knowledge of 2D / 3D CAD design tools, preferably microstation & S3D. As a PD&P designer you will assist in the 3D modeling of piping and equipment layout, under the supervision of experienced PD&P designers and the generation 2D drawings with minimal guidance from others. Also you will be required to prepare bulk material quantity takeoffs for materials applicable to the PD&P discipline, compile, maintain, job drawing files, records, and drawing controls, as instructed.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Sound knowledge of layout design and 3D modeling techniques preferably SP3D.
  • Developing 3D designs in a 3D model, equipment layouts & pipe designs with minimum supervision.
  • Carrying out layout engineering (positioning of equipment, pipe routings, ensuring that the Layout Rules are correctly followed.
  • Preparation of drawings/documents for General Arrangements and piping isometrics drawings.
  • Developing or modify 3D models based on rough sketches, marked-up copies and/or detailed verbal instructions.
  • Performing minor computations such as material quantity estimate, dimensional checks, as assigned.
  • Coordinating or makes jobsite visits, as required, to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires Technical degree related to Industrial Design, and at least 8+ years experience, or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Sound knowledge of layout design and 3D modeling techniques preferably using SP3D.
  • Sound knowledge of 2D software preferably Microstation.
  • Carrying out pipe layout routings, ensuring that the Layout Rules are correctly followed.
  • Preparation of 2D drawings/documents for General Arrangements and piping isometrics drawings.
