Project Overview:
Coroccohuayco
The Coroccohuayco Project is a mining development initiative leading by Compañía Minera Antapaccay S.A. (CMA), part of the GLENCORE Copper group. It is located in the district and province of Espinar, in the department of Cusco, Peru, approximately 710 km southeast of Lima and 180 km south of the city of Cusco. The nearest town is Espinar, situated 25 km from the project area. The project is at an approximate altitude of 4150 m.a.s.l.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project’s control systems & instrumentation aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of control systems components and processes. Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure unique and complex requirements of a project’s control systems aspects are met.
Major Responsibilities:
- Evaluating, selecting, and applying standard Control Systems engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria for the project or assignment in support of a global business unit or staff group to include the preparation of original designs layouts, details, drawings and specifications.
- Designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating mechanical components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)
- Preparing conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals.
- Coordinating Control Systems engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction and other functional groups.
- When delegated, providing guidance to other Control Systems engineering personnel for specific tasks or projects.
- Providing technical assistance to other Control Systems personnel and interacts with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues.
- Providing assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project Control Systems requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution.
- Mentoring and assisting more junior Control Systems team members.
- Completing Control Systems documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.Selecting components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
- Assisting in constructing detailed scale 3D models.
- Ensuring compliance with approved Instrumentation design standards, installation codes, and regulations in own work and by those assigned, to provide quality design.
- Developing of instrumentation installation details. Locating Control System equipment and instrumentation in 3D models.
- Working with designers in other disciplines to coordinate overall design and technical requirements.
- Developing and reviewing 2D drawings, Computer Aided Design (CAD), of high complexity with minimal guidance from others.
- Developing and reviewing lists of materials for Control System deliverables.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, design criteria, guides, procedures and codes relevant to the Instrumentation discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidiscipline team for EPC/EPCM projects.
- Proficient in Instrumentation discipline with the ability to resolve a wide range of issues.
- Microstation and/or AutoCAD as well as Smart Plant 3D modelling (SP3D) skills are essential.
- Knowledge of Instrumentation design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, reading of drawings, and reproduction methods used by the discipline.
