Job Summary:
An Electrical Engineer for Semiconductor Commissioning plans, tests, and verifies complex electrical systems (power distribution, UPS, generators, process power) in semiconductor fabs, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant installation and operation, working closely with design/construction teams to resolve issues, document everything, and prepare for facility turnover. Key duties include developing test plans, conducting FATs/SATs, managing punch lists, troubleshooting, and ensuring adherence to NEC/NFPA standards. Minimum 8 years of experience commissioning and testing electrical systems in semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or data center environments. Experience with commissioning processes for mission-critical and high-reliability electrical systems.

"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership"
Major Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute commissioning of electrical systems including:
- Lighting systems, grounding, and bonding systems
- Switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, and MCC’sUPS systems, PDUs, generators, and transfer switches
- Medium and low voltage power distribution systems
- Process control and monitoring systems related to electrical infrastructure
- Witness factory acceptance tests (FATs) and site acceptance tests (SATs) as required
- Ensure adherence to project safety requirements, electrical safety protocols, and lockout/tagout procedures
- Develop and implement commissioning plans, test scripts, and acceptance criteria in alignment with project requirements
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, control schematics, and project specifications
- Prepares test plans, Energization Plans.
- Perform functional testing, performance verification, and troubleshooting of electrical systems to ensure compliance with NFPA, NEC, IEEE, and project specifications.
- Coordinate with Commissioning Team, Design Engineers, Construction teams, vendors, and owner representatives to resolve technical issues.
- Scoping project drawings
- Complete the RASCI Matrix
- Supports reviews of performance curves, metrics, trackers, and user feedback to show trends, and use in improvements.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires BS Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related Technical Degree (or international equivalent) and 6-10 years of relevant experience or 10-15 years of relevant work experience. Commissioning process power, cleanroom infrastructure, and automation systems
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills for coordination with engineering, operations, and client teams.
- Experience with Commissioning Software (Smart Completions) and/or Digital Software.
- Experience in Commissioning or a technical consulting field such as facility design, engineering, construction management or related area.
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills with a focus on mentorship and accountability.
- Knowledge of ASHRAE Guidelines and Standards.
- Identifies owner’s goals, needs, and expectations for building operation and function; identifies the Commissioning responsibilities.
- Leadership or Supervisory experience, ideally leading a Construction Automation Team on a Bechtel jobsite.
- Experience with or exposure to Hexagon’s Smart Completions Software.
- Familiarity with semiconductor facility standards and critical power.
- Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives
