Project Overview:

Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.

 

Job Summary:

In this role, you will manage a team and provide field engineering leadership for work planning and packaging, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover and subcontracts. Your oversight will ensure Installation Work Packages (IWP’s) are developed, scoped, and sequenced to support the construction schedule and required materials, inspections and testing requirements are identified in accordance with project safely and quality standards. #LI-BH1

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing installation work packages for scope of work.
  • Responsible for developing cost, work hour and schedule estimates for each installation work package.
  • Coordinate with Home office and offsite engineer to clear design holds and constructability issues.
  • Establishes and coordinates construction schedules, staffing charts, and material and identify special equipment requirements.
  • Control expenditures in assigned area for staff and offsite support services to stay within budget.
  • Responsible for overall supervision of personnel in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Ensures performance evaluations are conducted on assigned personnel and counseling programs are maintained.
  • Ensures subordinate personnel receive progressive training to enable them to assume additional responsibilities.
  • Responsible for coordinating necessary field resources as assigned and coordinates the activities with designated departments.
  • Responsible for administration of assigned area(s) contractual activities.
  • Plans and implements procedures to ensure construction operations are continuously adhering to engineering designs, specifications, quality standards, schedules and budget.
  • Responsible for coordination of construction operations to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.
  • Maintains relationships with the client and their representatives, as assigned.
  • Ensures that company and local/national regulatory safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with in assigned area of responsibility. Ensures the Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into all aspects of construction operations. Actively participates in scheduled safety meetings.
  • Performs general administrative functions inherent in jobsite supervisory positions.
  • Ensures company and project policies and procedures are fully implemented. Establishes field procedures and objectives within corporate policies and procedures, as necessitated by conditions at a jobsite.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

Level 1

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

Level 2

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience as a Workface planner on at least two major projects.
  • Background in construction trades with construction supervision experience.
  • Understanding of scheduling techniques.
  • Fluent with Project controls methods and earned value calculations

 

Additional Information: Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
