Project Overview:

Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will support a project by performing technical or commercial logistics work. You will be responsible for domestic and international multi-leg shipments, ensuring safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods to meet project requirements. You will assist the project logistics lead with shipment tracking, performance metrics, audits, and logistics studies to ensure project requirements are met.  #LI-SM2 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Performs domestic, international multi-leg and complex specialized shipment responsibilities in support of project requirements to ensure the safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods to meet project requirements
  • Ensures timely entry of shipment tracking data into Oracle Transportation (OTM) to provide visibility shipment status. 
  • Ensures timely audit and processing of Logistics service provider invoices in accordance with project procedures. 
  • Assists in preparation of Logistics reports or performance metrics as required to satisfy project information requirements. 
  • Assists in identifying transport cost and service alternatives to support materials/equipment purchase decisions and use of Logistics service providers.
  • Assists the project Logistics lead as requested. 
  • Assists with filing and resolution of Logistics service provider claims. 
  • Assists with preparation of Logistics service provider bid tabs, commitment authorizations, and contract documents within the scope of Bechtel policies and procedures.  
  • Assists with preparation of logistics studies including site and Logistics service provider facility visits.  
  • Integrates safety requirements and measures in all Logistics activities. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must be proficient in import and export of new and used tools and construction equipment including self-propelled equipment.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Energetic and positive attitude working with multiple clients on a wide variety of projects.
  • Team building, conflict management and resolution, and negotiating skills.
  • Ambitious, energetic, self-motivated, team player, and results oriented. Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Bilingual or multilingual a plus.
  • Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Demonstrate strong technical expertise and knowledge of traffic and logistics for construction tools and equipment.

Additional Information: Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
