Project Overview:

Louisana LNG LLC is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.

Job Summary:

The Superintendent directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents and others, as assigned. Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets. Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions. The Superintendent will be responsible for the successful field execution of scopes including but not limited to excavation and backfill operations, soil mixing and stabilization, piling, and working in and around sensitive waterways. #LI-SP1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supervising and directing craft operations within assigned discipline(s) or area(s).
  • Monitors and directs subcontractor activities, through coordination and instruction of subcontractors' management staff within the area of responsibility.
  • Supervises and directs Craft activities, subordinate superintendents and others, as assigned. Role supports on large projects of high complexity with multiple stakeholders’ involvement.

Planning

  • Coordinate with various discipline Superintendents, General Foreman, and Foreman to determine direct hire equipment requirements.
  • Prepares 3 weeks look ahead schedule, including resources and equipment required to achieve planned activities and project milestones.
  • Schedule work to be performed, supervise in-process activities, and review work accomplished.
  • Reviews and approves where necessary, subcontractor construction methods, schedules, , material and equipment requirements.
  • Prepare material requisitions for tools and consumables.
  • Prepare craft requisitions, resource, and expenditure forecasts.

Safety / Quality

  • Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements
  • Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.
  • Implements procedures to ensure construction operations are continuously adhering to engineering designs, specifications, quality standards, schedules, and budget.
  • Ensure that all State and Federal safety codes, requirements, and standards are being complied within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Maintain, promote and cultivate a safe work ethic and work environment within the craft.

Technical

  • Supervise GFs and Foremen of assigned crews, interpret IWPs, 90 days look ahead plans and leads construction activities, including preparing work fronts analysis and delivering the earthwork activities as planned.
  • Works with Field Engineering on technical resolutions, construction testing and construction quality documents such as field tests and ITRs.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9 -12 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated planning and scheduling, direct hired construction experience on major civil earthwork projects involving excavation, backfill, wick drains, deep soil mixing, soil stabilization.
  • Able to work extended work schedules and night shift as required to support the project execution plans and schedules.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H).
  • Demonstrable commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.
  • Advanced understanding of production management including scheduling.
  • Advanced communication skills. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
