Project Overview:

Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will plan and support field engineering activities for ongoing construction work. Coordinate engineering efforts with Jobsite team, Fabricator, home office and Client. #LI-VB1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Review and coordinate technical documents with/from other engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction.
  • Facilitate technical discussions with third parties (client, suppliers, regulators) where required.
  • Configuration control and change management for any DECN scope.
  • Assist field team with design, code interpretation, clarification & Queries.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines as it relates to field clashes etc.
  • Ensure the construction team has all the drawings and other engineering data needed to successfully execute to schedule while maintaining a high degree of quality.
  • Coordinating closely with other technical disciplines to ensure that there are no engineering holds, DECN changes or impacts to construction.
  • Action all the construction queries in a timely manner in support of the construction schedule.
  • Manage discipline holds list and engineering action items list
  • Coordinate field purchase of materials required for carryover PD&P work.
  • Document Lessons and Best practices
  • Coordinate PD&P data quality issues
  • Generate, review and/or disposition PTRs (RFI, FCD, NCRs)
  • Generate Field Material Requisitions (FMR), perform Engineering Inspection Report (EIR), and Material Withdrawal Request (MWR)
  • Generate, review and/or approve Field Sketches
  • Coordinate with Pipe spool Fabricator for all issues pertaining to Spool fabrication (materials, TQs, MET related queries etc.)

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10  years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience​

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Technical knowledge of related engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering and construction methods and materials, and engineering application of computers.
  • Proficient knowledge of project engineering processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved and current knowledge of new methods of design and construction.
  • Proficient knowledge on planning, application and coordination of 2-D and/or 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design processes on a project.
  • Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the particular discipline.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Prior Field Experience preferred.
  • Additional Information: Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
