Project Overview:

Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.

 

Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead a team and supervise the recruiting, screening, orientation, and processing of project craft professionals. You will gather recruitment intel from local employment organizations, trade publications, and area competitors. Your recommendations for process improvement will help prevent potential shortfalls in project staffing requirements and ensure projected staffing needs are met. #LI-TH1

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Has oversight responsibility for the recruiting process.
  • Identifies and recommends action to address process improvement, projected staffing needs and potential shortfalls in project staffing requirements.
  • Collects information or data for the development of an industrial relations program, policy or procedures received from local government agencies, employer associations, trade publications, area competitors and private agencies to determine what crafts are available in the area and their basic skills levels.
  • Collects, assembles and analyzes data or information for industrial relations reports and compares craft availability in the area to the company requirements.
  • Supervises the recruiting, screening and in processing of craft professionals 
  • Identifies and recommends action to address process improvement, projected staffing needs and potential shortfalls in project staffing requirements 
  • Participates in delivery of craft new hire orientation 
  • To meet peak staffing needs, screens and selects craft applicants to ensure they meet the minimum established requirements for the applicable position that they applied for and extends offers of employment to candidates for continued processing and selection for available positions.
  • Processes craft requests or actions in conformance to Bechtel Construction Services hiring policy.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9 -12 years of relevant work experience.

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ideally knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements associated with sourcing employees and applicants. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understands terminology related to craft skill sets.
  • Previous work experience in industrial craft recruiting, or in the craft as a supervisor.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite of software, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Bi-lingual preferred.
  • Previous experience in Industrial Relations, workforce services or applicable responsibilities in related organization is preferred.
