Project Overview:
Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.
Job Summary:
The Industrial Relations Manager is responsible to provide leadership support to the Industrial Relations project teams in the establishment, implementation and administration of Project Industrial Relations systems & procedures, in accordance with the Project’s Industrial Relations Execution Strategy. #LI-TH1
Major Responsibilities:
- Working with the Industrial Relations functional team in the establishment, implementation and administration of consistent and aligned Project Industrial Relations processes & procedures including:
- Execution planning and strategy development;
- Bechtel craft recruitment, selection, employment;
- Workforce Development and Training including supervisory leadership skills & continuous improvement.
- Mobilization / orientation and onboarding programs;
- Performance Management & Communication program;
- Development & implementation of processes and procedures to support construction execution.
- Ensuring Project supervision and Industrial Relations teams are knowledgeable of & trained in Industrial Relations systems and processes.
- Ensuring consistency within the Industrial Relations projects team in accordance with Project & Bechtel policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and advice to construction management on risks or concerns regarding IR / Labor.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Major project construction Employee / Industrial Relations.
- Comprehensive experience across all major areas within Industrial Relations, including recruitment / workforce development / employee dispute resolution program etc.
- Ability to liaise with site non-manual personnel – all departments – to ensure effective implementation of Industrial Relations systems.
- Working knowledge & understanding of Bechtel industrial / recruitment / training / manual craft employee systems and their implementation.
