Project Overview:
Driftwood LNG LLC is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.
Job Summary:
The incumbent must have the necessary knowledge and directly related experience in the construction of industrial facilities and possess the necessary skills to plan and direct the execution of the construction work. The Indirects Superintendent must lead the project efforts to plan and safely execute required construction work. #LI-TH1
Major Responsibilities:
- Reviewing the project schedule and sequence of the craft staffing schedule to plan for project indirect needs.
- Reviewing any schedule revisions for impacts and participates in the development of contingency planning.
- Coordinating with the project plan for delivery of an indirect program in support of project-specific requirements.
- Monitoring and ensuring adherence to standard work process procedures (SWPPs) relating to Indirect work activities.
- Monitoring and controlling the indirect costs and budget.
- Monitoring craft consumption for tools and scaffold.
- Monitoring the preparation and issuance of material requisitions.
- Providing the interface between construction and procurement to identify, requisition and establish delivery dates for indirect material requirements.
- Monitoring procurement reports and activities to ensure indirect milestone schedule dates are met.
- Developing and conducting training to ensure that all assigned indirects personnel are properly trained and qualified.
- Assisting in the preparation of work hour estimates for the project.Establishing long-range staffing requirements and coordinating the timely staffing of positions. Monitoring personnel utilization throughout the duration of the project.
- Monitoring usage of indirects equipment to minimize cost of idle equipment.
- Monitoring the activities of designated subcontractors or vendors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
- Ensures required permits are in place prior to the start of the work at site.
- Maintaining and implementing a temporary facilities, utilities, and services plan/program to ensure project needs are met.
- Maintaining a high level of housekeeping thoughout the work area.
- Working closely with area and discipline superintendents and coordinating efforts and activities to meet the overall project requirements.
- Performing employee reviews for subordinate personnel and assisting in their development.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- A recognized degree in a job-related engineering or scientific discipline or specialized courses in construction technology and management and/or prior practical work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of a single or multi-discipline construction or engineering operation.
- Knowledge of the Six Sigma program tools and methodologies, and of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
- Knowledge of the use of subcontracts, and the contractor and subcontractor’s responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
- Experience working with, supervising and administering subcontractors and/or Direct Hire union workforce.
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
- An understanding of the application and requirements of Project Environmental, Safety & Health. Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment.
Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
