Project Overview:

Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.

 

Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead a team and support material planning and/or material coordination for a project. Planning involves providing work process and system expertise during the early project stages. Coordination will include communicating material availability, accuracy, and timeliness to the correct location. Your team will ensure the location receives the required materials to complete the project. #LI-CS1

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supervises a team of materials planning personnel on a medium-sized project
  • Provides work process and systems expertise, advice, and direction for materials management planning activities during the front-end and early stages of the project
  • Collaborates with Engineering and Construction to ensure the material identification methodology permits accurate reporting of material status and distribution of materials according to the Project Advanced Work Packaging Program.
  • Provides input and support all the disciplines (Civil, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Electrical, etc.) with the development of the identification (Tagging) of all material associated with each discipline.
  • Establishes the data set that is going to be used in the model to ensure this data can be shared and used among the various software applications used by the project – including any subcontractor systems identified in the contract
  • Supports Project Management with the development of the Project Execution Plan, Supply Chain Assignment Schedule (SCAS), Project Automation Plan, and the development of the Materials Management Plan Support Project Controls with the development of the project steel and spool fabrication curves and shares information associated with material lead times to support the development of the project schedule
  • Supports engineering with the prioritization of Material Requisition releases and IFC of drawings to the various fabricators (Rebar, Embeds, Steel, Spools, etc.) required to support the Project Advanced Work Packaging program
  • Assists the purchasing discipline with formation of the major bulk materials orders. Performs analysis of Fabricators’ capacity and ability to meet Project Advanced Work Packaging requirements during bid analysis. Identifies material priorities based on schedule and construction requirements. Monitors and interacts directly with the fabricators (Rebars, Embeds, Steel, Spool, etc.) to establish the fabrication priorities, provide constructability reporting, expedite the RFI resolution, and ensure the fabricators follow the priority sequence outlined in the Project Advanced Work Packaging program
  • Keeps warehouse and laydown personnel informed of construction erection and installation plans.
  • Identifies and communicates any material constraints that develop throughout the Supply Chain that could impact the Project Advanced Work Packaging plans

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of Field Materials Management work processes and systems expertise.
  • Advanced knowledge of project Procurement operations related to the acquisition of materials on projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of Engineering disciplines, the work process and the deliverables produced.
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP Systems including drawing takeoff input, Material Allocation Planner, Expediting Tracking Application, input of requisitions, and goods and services codes.
  • Advanced knowledge of related Engineering, Project Controls, and Construction Standard Applications Programs, and their modes of data interfacing within the ERP systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of vendor, fabricator, contractor, Customer and other outside data systems and how those systems interact with ERP systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Advanced knowledge of work packaging, pre-buy methodology, and materials status reporting.
  • Advanced skills in working with and communicating effectively with supervisors of other project functional groups, primarily Field Engineering, Construction, and Project Controls.
  • Advanced knowledge of laydown and warehouse operations and standard material handling processes.

 

Additional Information: Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
