Project Overview:
Driftwood LNG LLC is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.
Job Summary:
The candidate will be responsible to coordinate and provide field engineering support services for subcontracted and direct hire work activities work activities which include site preparation, deep soil mixing, drainage works, excavation and bacfkfill, roads construction, piling, and concrete. The Field Engineer undertakes activities relating to construction engineering within the civil discipline. Duties include interpreting civil design drawings and specifications for execution of civil works, issuance of field change documents and nonconformance reports, inspection and test reports, issuance of field material requisitions and other activities identified by the Area/Lead Discipline Field Engineer.
Major Responsibilities:
Work Planning & Packaging
- Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
- Facilitates planning construction methods and procedures.
- Leads preparation of construction drawings and schedules and the design of temporary construction facilities and ensures preparation of "as built" drawings and other job plans.
Material Management
- Initiates requisitions for field purchases
- Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
Quantities
- Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
Safety / Quality Control
- Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
Technical
- Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities
For Direct Hire
- Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
STR / Subcontract Coordinator
- Reviews and approves inspection test plans,
- Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals
Education and Experience Requirements:
Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Sound communication skills.
- Sound interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of tools including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
- Knowledge of cost management including estimating and forecast development.
- Extensive experience in civil construction on large projects.
- Working knowledge of structural construction operations, construction surveying, excavation and backfill operations, and concrete installation.
- Preference to candidates with experience in some or all of the following direct hire activities, including site preparation, excavation & backfill, soil mixing, piling, precast prestressed concrete, and/or marine.
- Technical knowledge of drainage on infrastructure projects, including open-cut excavation, trenching, grading and general construction work in and around sensitive watercourses.
- Familiarity with current industry quality standards.
- Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H). Demonstrable commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.
- Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to construction field activities.
- Experience of roadway construction, mass grading elements and slip-form paving activities.
