Project Overview:
Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will coordinate Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) training and awareness of a project’s ES&H program. You will work with experts to review course materials and awareness strategies and assist with the processes for content delivery. Your efforts to optimize training and communication will help the ES&H program achieve continuous improvement goals for health and safety on the job. #LI-VB1
Major Responsibilities:
- Supports development and coordination of environmental, safety, and health (ESH) processes and actions to enhance ESH program implementation.
- Assists in preparing and implementing training plans and standard and specialized ESH courses that relate to contracted scopes of work and Bechtel's ESH standards.
- Works with subject matter experts to develop training materials and awareness strategies.
- Leads processes for classroom and instructor-led courses, hands-on training (e.g., hazard school), printed media, and other methods to promote knowledge and awareness of all three ESH disciplines.
- Coordinates the Craft-Based Leadership program including training, recordkeeping, and dissemination of observational information and recommendations from craft professionals.
- Applies the ESH Management System to achieve continual improvement, including maintaining a risk register, legal register, stakeholder matrix, and other system elements.
- Identifies ESH stakeholders and tailors training and communication campaigns considering risk assessment, demographics, trades, languages, and other factors.
- Engages an approved third-party vendor when necessary for training materials and translation services.
- Performs data management and prepares reports, presentations, EHS performance assessments, and trend analysis.
- Reviews data from risk assessments, audits, and incidents to identify opportunities to improve training, communication, procedures and processes, and control and mitigation measures.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and/or 4-6 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge in the field of ES&H Management, or related discipline.
- Knowledge of environmental and safety procedures, principles, and methodologies.
- Knowledge of national environmental and safety laws/regulations and regulatory agencies’ processes and responsibilities, industry standards/practices for compliance, and best management practices for minimizing potential ES&H risks during project execution.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials and physical risk exposures, Personal Protective Equipment standards as well as Craft Based Leadership behavioral based safety observation processes or similar.
- A minimum of 4 years prior experience in Education, Training, HR, or related area of focus.
- Ability to prepare and deliver training elements and modules proficiently in both English and Spanish (preferred) as per the Projects ES&H Training Management Plan.
- Experience in development, presentation, and assessment of ES&H education and training plans / packages on large construction projects required.
- Experience and qualification / certification regarding Train the Trainer preferred.
- Excellent verbal, writing and presentation skills Emergency response qualifications, i.e., confined space, vertical rescue and fire Why Tree, ICAM or Taproot certificate
Additional Information: Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
