Project Overview:

Driftwood LNG LLC is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.

 

Job Summary:

In this role, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination. Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. 

 

The Construction Coordinator will support the Site Construction Team. General responsibility of the Construction Coordinator is to assist the Construction team with various tasks supporting the execution planning for site construction. The individual will also supervise early work activities at site within multiple field engineering disciplines and ensure assigned construction performance is compliant with specifications and within schedules and budgets. #LI-BH1

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Drafting updates to the site execution plan.
  • Providing constructability input to design reviews in the home office.
  • Monitoring development of module and site work scope and quantities.
  • Meeting regularly with engineering and procurement team members to track and resolve site action items.
  • Assisting with the development of site manpower and production curves.
  • Providing input and comments to the P6 site construction schedule.
  • Performing quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for site activities.
  • Drafting Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Inspection and Test Reports (ITRs) for the site.
  • Assisting with the site subcontracts plan.
  • Assisting with the layout and planning of temporary facilities at site.
  • Assisting with indirect planning for the site (mobile equipment, small tools, etc).
  • Writing construction method statements and build plans.
  • Assisting with development and implementation of an automation plan for the site. 
  • Preparing requisitions for materials, services, and equipment for the site.
  • Planning, tracking, and reporting on the status of site project readiness to receive modules.
  • Providing daily and weekly updates on the status of open action items and issues.
  • Performing technical bid evaluation of temporary facilities subcontracts
  • After mobilizing to the site, may assume additional leadership and supervisory responsibilities commensurate with experience.

Level 1

  • Prepares construction drawings and sketches. 
  • Facilitates planning construction methods and procedures.  
  • Initiates requisitions for field purchases                   
  • Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment. 
  • Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required. 
  • Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely. 
  • Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities 
  • Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development. 
  • Reviews and approves inspection test plans, 
  • Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals, 

Level 2

  • Leads preparation of construction drawings and schedules and the design of temporary construction facilities and ensures preparation of "as built" drawings and other job plans.  

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Level 1: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
  • Level 2: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of interfaces for design engineering, procurement, and construction.
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Bechtel's Standard Work Process Procedures.
  • Experience in the formation and administration of construction subcontracts.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Bechtel automation tools.
  • Commitment to Bechtel’s Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Core Processes, and Bechtel’s “Zero Accidents” philosophy.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference for construction experience on LNG projects.
