Project Overview:

Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will monitor and organize subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders’ involvement, through the coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff. Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely.

You will provide knowledge, expertise, input and consultative support for the Building subcontractor required for construction, commissioning and startup and also you will lead a team and supervise and/or craft professionals on a project for the project direct scope of works.

You will participate in work planning and packaging including coordination of interface activity between project and building subcontractor, turnover coordination, quality control, and environmental safety and health. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development. Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets. #LI-TH1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and organizes subcontractor activities, through coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff within the area of responsibility.
  • Role supports projects of moderate complexity and few stakeholders involved.
  • Support of building subcontractor for main building scope of work construction and review subcontractor planning , daily report/validate and prepare daily construction/interface report
  • Support interface works and coordination, execution of direct scope of works and building subcontractor scope of works coordination
  • Support of construction, commissioning activities related to the building services of various facilities
  • Plan and schedule all construction activities sequence and resource requirements for assigned areas of responsibility that will be required by contractors & project.
  • Review contractor submissions for building services
  • Supervises and/or directs craft activities as assigned and planning as required for direct scope.

Planning / Productivity

  • Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
  • Develops planning construction methods and procedures.
  • Develops projections and schedules for workforce, material, and equipment requirements

Safety / Quality

  • Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements
  • Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.

Technical 

  • Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
  • Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
  • Coordinates with Design on constructability issues.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Administration of subcontracts scope of works including knowledge of and skill in communicating effectively with subcontractors and administration of commitments, monitoring subcontractor performance, associated labor laws, and the resolution of claims and disputes.
  • Previous experience with construction and commissioning of building services in a public infrastructure facility.
  • Technical background in one or more building services systems
  • Understanding of building systems  and subcontractor coordination including interface management
  • Ability to build strong relationships with external entities and building services approval companies.  
  • Good background using computers and basic word processing and spreadsheets
  • Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment
  • Knowledge of planning and scheduling development.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate team members effectively & positively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve in high pressure situations.

Additional Information: Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
