Project Overview:

Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.

 

Job Summary:

In this role, you will be the primary interface between the batch plant subcontractor and civil superintendents / field engineers. Responsible for daily coordination meetings between subcontractors and site personnel to ensure concrete placement are prioritized to meet the project schedule while ensuring efficient and safe use of the batch plant and related equipment. #LI-BH1 


Major Responsibilities:

Batch Plant Coordination 

  • Prepare daily and weekly concrete pour schedule
  • Verify concrete pump & truck access to placement area. Verify truck route to and from placement. Issue road closure notifications, if necessary.
  • Interface with civil superintendent to schedule and prioritize placements in their area. 
  • Monitor concrete quality to ensure compliance with project specifications and mix design parameters.
  • Providing support to field supervision in establishing requirements for staffing, tools, equipment, and material requirements for a given work evolution.
  • Ensuring all installations are per latest revisions of design drawings, specifications, standards and codes.

Subcontract Management 

  • Responsible for batch plant and pump truck subcontractors. Monitoring compliance with contract requirements including submission of daily reports.
  • Assist contractor manager with scope disputes, backcharges, and other issues.
  • Verify subcontractor invoice correlate with field deliveries
  • Verify quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment. 

Quantities 

  • Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required. 
  • Reporting on weekly installed quantities to Project Controls.

Safety / Quality Control 

  • Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely. 

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  •  Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience on an LNG construction site especially along the U.S. Gulf Coast.
  • Experience with subcontract management
  • Knowledge of Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs) – Teamworks, Unifier, Cornerstone, SteelSlayer, DSCS.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.
  • Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.

 

Additional Information: Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
