This role will be based in Knoxville, TN with periodic business travel, as required.

Position Summary

Essential duties include the locating and designing support for various piping systems and performing associated calculations. Candidate should be familiar with common pipe support hardware, industry standards, and relevant codes such as AISC & ASME B31.3. Work closely with layout personnel and pipe stress engineers to deliver a quality and cost-effective design. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required. Prior experience should include working in a 3D model environment.

Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications

  • Level 1: BS degree with minimum of 6 years of related experience.
  • Level 2: BS degree with minimum of 9 years of related experience.
  • This role requires a facility-specific clearance that requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Good knowledge of AISC and ASME B31.3 and other relevant industry codes and standards.
  • Prior experience using pipe support structural analysis programs.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
  • Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience using GTStrudl structural analysis program.
  • PE Registration.
  • Prior experience using Pipe SupportModeler software.
  • Previous Bechtel project experience.
  • Previous DOD/DOE project experience.
