Job Summary:
This position will be part of the centralized Engineering Automation team for the NS&E GBU, performing development of web-based applications using current development tools, including C# and .Net. Will work with multiple disciplines and perform work independently, requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of information systems techniques. Will also require application support, software engineering, software quality assurance and quality control. Devises new automation approaches to problems encountered to provide solutions to the customer. Supports discipline in performance of complex and demanding assignments requiring initiative and independent judgment. Provides advice and guidance on technical matters. Performs work with the application of a significant range of fundamental principles in a variets of contexts. Demonstrates a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving.

Major Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops, and implements one or more software applications, including complex applications
- Interfaces with customers, creates new products and web applications, and improves existing systems and schemas
- Estimates the software development work for new application development and maintenance of existing applications
- Ensures Corporate Software Development Methodology Framework compliance
- Identifies and implements technical innovations to improve work processes.
- Designs database schemas, objects, including auditing
- Works with identity management as needed to implement and configure application authentication. Secures application access using role-based security.
- May create CI/CD pipelines
- Works closely with users to assure that business requirements are accurately represented in the design and implementation phases
- Designs and develops re-usable components to optimize productivity
- Defines standards, conducts code reviews and mentors developers on development standards
- Conducts developer induction and product/ technical trainings
- Analyzes, maintains, and implements new, existing software applications and develops programming specifications from business requirements.
- Analyzes user requirements directly into technical solutions at a unit or module level and analyzes existing code to ensure it meets functional requirements.
- Creates and executes unit test cases for his/her scope of work
- Works as a part of agile team and participates in agile ceremonies
- May lead development of a medium size project or multiple small size applications
- Assists in designing application architecture
- Collaborates with cross-functional peers and leaders to deliver software projects
- Understands and implements the application security concepts to include static, dynamic scan of code, proper logging, secure database query practices, API security etc.
- May work with vendor in troubleshooting advanced issues to resolution.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Information, Systems, and Technology, Computer Science or related discipline with at least 6-8 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be a US citizen
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Working knowledge and experience with software development methodologies and web server deployments and administration.
- Experience working closely with customers to understand their requirements and expectations by asking questions and listening.
- Must have experience with software development in C#, .Net, Entity Framework, JavaScript, and web services.
- Must have experience with source code management repositories (for example, TFS, GIT).
- Must have experience with database development skills (MS SQL, ORACLE).
- Must have experience with Agile Software Development Methodology.
- Must have experience with software configuration management.
- Must have performed execution of software test plans for developed applications.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
- Strong problem solving and end user support skills.
- Must be highly organized and a responsible time manager.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to document technical processes in a clear and concise manner.
- Hands on experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems (i.e., Windows 7, 10, 2012 R2). Computer literate in common software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Software Quality Assurance (SQA) principles and methodologies
- Experience with automated build and deployment process
- Experience with AG Grid and Charts.js
