Project Overview:

Job Summary:
In this role, you will use 2-D/3-D computer-aided design (CAD) to develop design models and drawings for civil engineering systems such as earthwork, drainage, and road design. You will assist with the development of work plans and review work prepared by designers/drafters. Your work will help ensure civil designs are high quality, accurate, complete, and in compliance.
Major Responsibilities:
- Originate and check Civil Site deliverables, including drawings and 3-D models for earthwork/site design.
- Interpret and verify industry standards, guidelines, and codes for project deliverables.
- Report design quantities compared to estimated quantities.
- Participate in project design/model reviews.
- Participate in constructability reviews.
- Review and coordinate technical documents with/from other engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- BS degree in a related field with 2-5 years of related design experience or AA/AS degree with 4-7 years of related design experience. In lieu of a degree, 6-9 years of related design experience.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in the use of AutoCAD and Civil3D.
- Work experience should emphasize Civil Site design of heavy industrial type facilities.
- Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Familiar with the provisions of AASHTHO, ASTM, ACI, ASTM, FHWA, MUTCD and WBDG UFC codes. Knowledge of construction materials and construction details and techniques.
- Knowledge of engineering deliverables, such as drawings and specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the sitework, earthwork, roadway, and drainage for Nuclear Quality and Safety Environment.
- AA in civil engineering or engineering technology.
- Knowledge of other process improvement programs.
