Project Overview:

The Project includes the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of 3 new bucket-wheel reclaimers including associated structural, mechanical, electrical and communications services. The Project also includes the design and construction of associated off-board scope including bulk earthworks, civil infrastructure, structural works and electrical upgrades to support the functionally safe operation of the new reclaimers.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will interface with project personnel,primarily supervisors, subcontractors, and clients to communicate and efficiently deliver logistics. Your knowledge, preparedness, and collaboration will enable you to proactively organize and optimize operations for camp accommodations, diagnose and resolve complex problems, and implement design changes to maintain legal compliance. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Project Logistics (Camp, Transport, Catering, Gen. Svcs.) 
  • Coordinates, organizes, and inspects the development and operations related to camp including maintenance, security, medical, food resale store, kiosks, recreation, camp feeding activities, transportation, and sanitation conditions 
  • Diagnoses and resolves moderately complex problems related to craft logistics 
  • Works between functions to organize and streamline craft logistics activities 
  • Interfaces with site/project personnel, including but not limited to: supervisors, subcontractors, client personnel or others to communicate and deliver logistics efficiently 
  • Contributes to writing scopes of work for camp, cleaning, catering, accommodation, sanitation, or other services 
  • Contributes to selection of services providers in the contract bid process 
  • Attends subcontractor meetings to identify issues and ensure preparedness for service provision and writes Contractual letters for Subcontracts team to send to service providers 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience with the administration of human resources, or similar functions in a construction company, EPC, or similar industry.
  • Knowledge and experience in the operation of remote ‘major project’ personnel logistics operations, inclusive of Workforce recruitment and mobilisation processes, ground and air transportation, project accommodation facilities, workforce training and upskilling, site access and security and general Employee Relations and Industrial Relations.
  • Tertiary qualifications related to human resource management/industrial relations is highly regarded for this role.
  • Training experience within an industrial environment is preferred.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across all functions, deliver on Project objectives and implement key programs on time and within budget.
  • Good analytical and strategic planning skills: able to prioritize, pivot and respond to conflicting priorities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office software.
  • Highly regarded experience with employment relationships, employee or industrial relations, construction trades, leadership skills. HSE legislative knowledge will also be highly regarded.
