Project Overview:
Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy. Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of ~5 million tonnes per annum. As part of the construction of Pluto Train 2, additional domestic gas infrastructure will be installed to increase capacity to ~225 Terajoules per day. Woodside Energy has selected Bechtel to deliver the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning scope of work for Pluto Train 2. Woodside Energy is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will lead the implementation and audit activities of the project quality program. You will review and determine applicable quality requirements, report new or revised regulatory requirements, monitor non-conforming conditions, and determine the sufficiency of corrective actions. Your recommendations will assist in the resolution of complex issues and mitigate performance risk.
Major Responsibilities:
- Leads in quality audits or activities covered by corporate/project quality program/plans
- Prepares and completes quality audit checklists of all functions for compliance to the quality program/plan
- Reviews and reports on selected engineering, construction, and procurement documents to ensure that applicable quality requirements are included
- Reviews documentation and reports on the quality of components or assemblies for conformance to engineering and quality requirements
- Assists with preparation of quality procedures and plans for issuance in accordance with approved processes
- Leads in the review of relevant functional and supplier procedures and manuals to ensure conformance to corporate/project quality program/plan requirements
- Reviews and determines the sufficiency of project quality control inspection plans
- Follows up on actions taken in response to audit findings to ensure adequacy of completed corrective actions
- Participates and/or leads in monitoring the implementation of the project quality program/plan such as People Based Quality (PBQ), Lessons Learned, Close Loop Corrective Actions and Continuous Improvement
- Assists with cause analysis in conjunction with other project or staff personnel to develop corrective action plans which assist in the resolution of complex issues
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Technical knowledge in the application of engineering, environmental science, procurement, construction, testing, operations, or decommissioning practices sufficient to comprehend specified engineering, environmental, procurement, construction, testing, operations, decommissioning, and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of the application of corrective actions to reconcile nonconforming conditions.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and functions which impact the quality program/plan.
- Proficiency in oral and written communications.
- Proficiency in providing direction and on the job training to assigned personnel.
- Proficiency in the use of applicable computer programs.
- Applicable certification in Quality, e.g., Six Sigma (Green/ Black Belt), Lean skills, Certified Quality Manager (CQM) (advantage)
- Demonstrated experience with design controls, design verification and validation activities, process controls, supply chain, construction, start-up activities, and risk management.
- Strong analytic skills with practical knowledge of how to identify key performance quality metrics to set targets for maintaining a state of compliance while identifying areas for improvement.
