Project Overview:

Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy. 

Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of ~5 million tonnes per annum. As part of the construction of Pluto Train 2, additional domestic gas infrastructure will be installed to increase capacity to ~225 Terajoules per day.   

Woodside Energy has selected Bechtel to deliver the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning scope of work for Pluto Train 2. 

Woodside Energy is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source.

Job Summary:

Works on planning medium to large projects with responsibilities including coordinating workforce, material, and equipment requirements, and organizing area discipline work with others as designated by supervising superintendent. Roles within this group are equipment admin, Project Equipment Management Systems (PEMS) administrator, junior equipment manager, and equipment shop administrator. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Works on small to medium projects responsible for equipment operations within a region/project. 
  • Directs field equipment operations, develops equipment plans, cost estimates, and operating budgets for domestic and international projects within a region. 
  • Works with projects and GBU management to provide strategic planning for optimal fleet utilization. 

Planning 

  • Provides technical consultation support to Bechtel projects worldwide and provides technical input and support for Work Process Procedure (WPP) development, lessons learned review, and construction best practice identification
  • Participates in Six Sigma Process Improvement Program (PIP) teams when requested 
  • Assists with the product training and improvements needed to directly support construction and estimating teams as well as auditing program implementation for all sites as needed.  
  • Supervises the administration and availability of fleet usage (utilization). Directs and controls the repairs and maintenance of fleet equipment and ensures maintenance of service documents are up to standards.  

Safety and Quality 

  • Monitors and ensures that the quality of work performed meets requirements. 
  • Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by BEO management. 
  • Ensures Zero Accident Philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and in safe operational order.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10  years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Works on problems of diverse scope requiring analysis of various factors. 
  • Demonstrates judgment in selecting methods and techniques for solutions. 
  • Networks with internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. 
  • Minimal supervision with some latitude for judgment. 
  • Possesses problem-solving responsibility under defined guidelines. 
  • May assist less-experienced team members. 
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar Earthmoving Equipment, Demag, Liebherr, Manitowoc, Terex, Grove cranes, JLG, Gradall, IR forklifts, JLG and Grove Manlifts, Caterpillar, Cummins, Perkins engines preferred. 
  • Understanding of equipment warranties, performance guarantees, and fitness for use. 
  • Knowledge of multi-discipline construction/operating functions. 
  • Knowledge of safety requirements and practices. 
  • Knowledge of heavy-industrial equipment management processes/procedures. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, database applications). 
  • Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment. 
  • Knowledge of subcontracts and contractor/subcontractor responsibilities in documents. 
  • Excellent customer relations and communication skills. 

Additional Information

This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).

The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site. Mobile phones and other personal electronic devices – i.e. wireless headphones, iPads, smart watches - are also not permitted on site.
