Project Overview:
Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy.
Woodside Energy is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source.
Job Summary:
As CSU Planner, you will work with the project team to prepare schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations.
You will apply established unit job hour and pricing data, perform schedule integrations, prepare work logic, identify restraints and potential impacts, develop recovery plans, and evaluate subcontractor schedules for improvements.
You will be instrumental in ensuring projects stay on track and on time.
Major Responsibilities:
- Manages planning activities for a Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, and Startup (CSU) within a project, including Level 3, Level 4 schedules including WFA and 4WLA
- Identifies schedule trends for management attention
- Ensures schedule updates are completed in time to support project reporting requirements
- Supports project organizational and administrative activities requested by CSU Manager and CSU Engineer
- Excellent written and presentation skills
- Able to chair schedule review meeting and present schedule to Management team
- Flexibility to provide coverage of planning into construction which overlapping with CSU
- Analyses Cost and schedule data to provide innovative solutions to project schedule challenges
- Setup and monitoring CSU progress using an established a project guideline quantity reporting
- Provide a supervisory coverage to other planners when required
- Setup CSU progress dashboard for progress tracking
- Systematic and strategic thinking, able to work independently with minimal supervision
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9 -12 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advance planning skills and knowledge in both Construction and CSU on LNG project
- Have prior construction and CSU field experience on LNG project
- Able to explain construction, pre-comm, commissioning and startup sequence and inter-relationships
- Advance MS Excel and Primavera P6 knowledge and skills
- Have through understanding of QURR (Quantity and Unit Rate Report)
- Able to understand Process Flow Diagram, P&ID, Single Line diagram, Process description, Process safety plan
- Flexible to work extended period or long schedule due to CSU work is around the clock during certain period
Additional Information:
This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).
The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site. Mobile phones and other personal electronic devices – i.e. wireless headphones, iPads, smart watches - are also not permitted on site.
This position is available to both local and non-local personnel. For non-locals (FIFO/DIDO), the working roster is 3/1.
