Project Overview:
Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy.
Woodside Energy is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source.
Job Summary:
The CSU Electrical Engineer is responsible for Planning and conducting work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, adaptation, and modification of standard techniques, guidelines, procedures, and criteria. Devising new approaches to startup, maintenance, operation, or testing. Ensuring scope of the associated electrical work is completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with the project safety standards, the project quality standards and the design/specifications as well as performing general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions.
Major Responsibilities:
- Ensures that Bechtel and local/national safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with within assigned area of responsibility. Ensures the Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into every aspect of Pre-Commissioning/Commissioning /Start up activities. Actively participates in safety programs.
- Receives operational surveillance, administrative supervision and technical guidance from an CSU Electrical Lead or Pre-Commissioning Manager . Objectives are defined, and results are subject to supervisory review. Receives day-to-day supervision from CSU Electrical Lead.
- Establishes and maintains contacts with client, supplier, regulatory bodies, project management, engineering, and field personnel. Represents startup on project teams as assigned.
- Prepares project administrative and technical documents as required for Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, startup, maintenance, operation, and/or testing.
- Establishes and implements plans, instructions, procedures and work process improvements to ensure the safe, timely and economical delivery of Pre-Commissioning / Commissioning / Start up activities to meet project requirements.
- Integrates interdisciplinary schedule requirements and constraints to establish logical work sequences for assigned disciplines or specialties. Works with the contractors and others to coordinate work sequences with the total project plan.
- Ensure permanent plant materials are stored in accordance with specifications and project requirements. Responsible for testing of electrical system(s) as per Manufacturer's and legislative requirements.
- Responsible for jobsite operations including onsite activities of Bechtel, subcontractors, suppliers, clients and their representatives and others as may be assigned within area of responsibility
- Monitors the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules· Assisting with the preparation of operations manuals.
- Reviews functional acceptance criteria documents.
- Ensures that all testing documentation is completed and submitted to support the project schedule.
- Supports/Participates in facility/system walk downs.

Additional Information:
This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).
The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site.
This position is available to both local and non-local personnel. For non-locals (FIFO/DIDO), the working roster is 3/1.
