Learning and Development Coordinator (International Assignment)

Bechtel is seeking a Learning and Development Professional to join the Jubail, SA team. In the Learning and Development Coordinator role, you will have an opportunity to work alongside a dynamic team of industry professional across the globe to support the Team.


Job Responsibilities:


  1. Develop an annual Project Training Plan by department based on needs assessment. This would cover both Bechtel’s and the customer’s employees.
  2. Prepare and manage the annual training budget approved by the customer.


  1. Prepare, deliver, facilitate, monitor, evaluate and document training activities.


  1. Manage the Training Program:
    1. Track and enforce the compliance status of corporate mandatory training requirements.
    2. Develop an annual Project Training Plan based on needs assessment by department.
    3. Schedule, plan and implement on project training courses for both mandatory and departmental training including bringing non-project instructors to site.
    4. Conduct soft skills classes as required such as Ethics, Records Information Management, New Hire Orientation, etc.
    5. Prepare quarterly/annual training reports for the Management and client.
  2. Manage the Saudi National Rotational Program:
    1. Work with Staffing Coordinator and HR Manager to recruit fresh Saudi graduates to the project.
    2. Manage the 2-year Saudi National College Hire Rotational Program including resolving employee issues, developing two year rotational plans for each participant, coordinating rotational assignments, coaching participants on performance and organizational issues, planning and implementing “migration” of staff to move into regular full time positions and maintaining effective relationships with local schools. 
  3. Manage the Saudi National Leadership Development Program.
  4. Manage the Knowledge Transfer Program for the client including training events, Bechtel University induction and courses approved for client use.
  5. Coordinate and facilitate the Employee Engagement/Upward Feedback Meeting activities on the project.
  6. Develop and implement rotational programs in Bechtel for client employees as requested.
  7. Organize, develop or source training programs to meet specific training needs.
  8. Provide policy guidance on Human Resources and training matters.
  9. Handle logistics for training activities including venues, equipment, catering and liaising with other Bechtel Offices.
  10. Responsible for managing the effectiveness of the Orientation/induction for all new staff.
  11. Prepare Power Point presentations as and when required.



Other Duties and Responsibilities:


  1. Provide ad hoc support to Program Manager, Business Services Manager and client when requested.
  2. Perform all other duties as assigned by HR Manager, Business Manager and Program Manager.


Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university. 
  • At least 6 years’ experience in Human Resources, including relevant experience in a multi-national organization.
  • At least 3 years in Training, coordinating, developing or managing training programs.
  • Experience in assessing skills gap, developing a training plan and or coordinating training classes to deliver the training plan.
  • Experience in facilitating training classes.


Basic Behavioral:


  • Effective oral and written communication skills, and the ability to prepare reports and documents for senior management.
  • Strong people skills and ability to deal with staff related issues.
  • Effective team engagement and tactical skills.
