Project Overview
 

Bechtel Infrastructure is partnering with a prominent Indonesian company to provide project, engineering, commercial and construction services to support a major highway project delivery in Indonesia which is due to commence in 2023. The team will be based in locations in Jakarta and at the project site. 

In anticipation of an awarded contract, we are actively seeking candidates interested in joining this team mobilizing as early as December or as soon as visas are received.  

 

Position Overview
 

Supervises cost analysis and control activities for a global business unit in a central function role, or is responsible for cost engineering, cost estimating, and cost analysis/control activities for a major project. Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and providing innovative solutions to cost engineering problems. Provides generally non-routine cost engineering guidance to projects. Supports and promotes improvement measures and implementation of recommendations for the global business unit. Supports organizational and administrative activities.

 

What you bring
 

  • Prepares and coordinates the development of staffing and operating plans for cost engineering activities.
  • Reviews contract drafts for adequacy of cost and scope definition, and coordinates development of all data in support of negotiations.
  • Prepares, coordinates, and directs cost engineering presentations to Bechtel and client management, as required.
  • Participates in or directs the development and implementation of Project Controls training programs and seminars within the global business unit.
  • Conducts personnel performance reviews and career counseling. Interviews candidates for employment and makes recommendations for employment decisions.
  • Interprets and executes policy, objectives, and standards applicable to cost control and cost analysis activities.
  • Directs cost analysis and problem solving activities, and develops and executes policy objectives and standards applicable to cost analysis activities.
  • Supports proposal activities as required.
  • Performs or directs functional audits of project activities to ensure technical adequacy of project cost engineering activities.
  • Maintains liaison within global business unit to coordinate workload and staffing plans, work processes, and procedures.
  • Develops and supports improvement measure institutionalization for the global business unit.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert within the global business unit.


About you
 

  • Experience and demonstrated skill in directing cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, and cost analysis, in the field and the home office. Experience and demonstrated skill in establishing criteria for Project Controls activities.
  • Statistical knowledge of regression analysis of variance estimation and correlation, with an advanced understanding of how to apply real-world applications of statistical theory.
  • Skilled in providing direction, personnel administration, and training of technical and nontechnical personnel.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication, with demonstrated skill in presenting cost engineering information to management/clients.
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems.
  • Advanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes, as performed by Bechtel.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.
  • Knowledge of current industry and technical developments

 

Terms and Conditions (Drafted) Highlights:  The position may be based in Jakarta or in camp. Standard work week in Jakarta will be 40 hours per week and in camp 48-54 hours per week. Compensation will include basic and supplemental uplifts. Rotational leave includes four trips per year.
