Project Overview:
After more than 35 years operating as a successful uranium mine, the Ranger Project is entering its rehabilitation stage. Bechtel will be working alongside ERA and major stakeholder Rio Tinto to restore the land to the status of its surrounding World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. A collaborative project, this project will be developed in consultation with the Mirarr Traditional Owners and will benefit the Jabiru community.

Job Summary:
In this role, you will oversee contractors engaged in demobilisation of assets from the Ranger Mine, including the Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) fleet and associated mining, process and maintenance equipment and other general services activities.
You will coordinate and manage subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities across projects involving multiple stakeholders, working closely with subcontractor management teams. You will also ensure activities are aligned with established schedules and that all work is planned and executed in a safe and compliant manner.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership for safety on the project, including safety orientation, preparation of safety procedures and leading project and subcontractor safety meetings.
- Inspect the site for any unsafe conditions and practices and take appropriate corrective action to correct breaches.
- Supervise and direct contractor(s) in a supervisor capacity within the civil and earthworks disciplines, and other areas and disciplines as required.
- Ensure the most current design documents are provided to subcontractors to complete work, and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation
- Monitor the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
- Responsible for the cost, schedule and optimization of craft labour and maintaining the three-week look ahead schedule for labour and equipment.
- Perform other duties as required.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Recognized, relevant technical degree or certification, and/or extensive, demonstrated work experience in construction field.
- Demonstrated experience in Disassembly/Assembly of Heavy Mining Equipment essential and experience in cross supervision highly advantageous.
- Experience in supervising on large mining sites or projects, and able to undertake and administer small to medium capital projects.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of close client secondment interaction, EPCM contract Management, and the Contractor(s) and their subcontractor’s responsibilities.
- Knowledge of construction technologies & supervisory functions relating to field activities.
- Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H), to a Zero Accident safety program or similar and Critical Risk Management programs or similar.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be computer-literate (e.g. Word, Excel and database applications).
- Demonstrated strong organizational and customer relationship skills.
