Project Overview:

Then the Energy Resources of Australia (ERA) Ranger rehabilitation project is what you’re looking for! After more than 35 years operating as a successful uranium mine, the Ranger Project is entering its rehabilitation stage and offers an exciting opportunity for you to make a positive impact on the environment. ERA has engaged the global engineering firm, Bechtel, to support ERA as Delivery Partner for ongoing study work. Bechtel will be working alongside ERA and major stakeholder Rio Tinto to restore the land to the status of its surrounding World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. A collaborative project, this project will be developed in consultation with the Mirarr Traditional Owners and will benefit the Jabiru community.
Located 8 km east of Jabiru and 260 km south-east of Darwin, the Ranger Project will lead the way in the fast-growing area of mining closures. Job Summary:
In this role, you will lead a team of trades personnel delivering building and construction activities to existing commercial and residential infrastructure, under the direction of the Superintendent General Services. You will organise subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on projects with multiple stakeholders. Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely.
Major Responsibilities:
- Monitors and organizes subcontractor activities, including multi discipled trade services.
- The role supports mid-size projects with multiple stakeholders’ involvement.
- Planning and monitoring subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
- Responsible for signing off contractor risk assessments and permitting on a daily basis.
- Leading all pre-start activities relating to quality, safety, best practice work methods, hazard identification etc.
- Coordinates the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure appropriate isolations of energy.
- Ensures subcontractors adhere to established HSE and Quality standards policies and procedures and related work rules as directed by the General Services Superintendent.
- Coordination between stakeholders ensuring all works are running according to schedule and budget.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10 years of relevant experience or 15 years of relevant work experience in no bachelor’s degree.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Cert III or IV in Building and Construction, a relevant trades certificate or demonstrated experience leading residential and commercial building and construction works.
- Previous experience as a Leading Hand in a significant sized organisation, or Supervisor of smaller projects leading maintenance / renovations / upgrades in residential or commercial buildings.
- Experience in working with the NT Building Act, Regulations and other subordinate Codes and practices.
- Demonstrated experience leading a team and achieving milestones and outcomes.
- Highly desired is experience in multi-disciplined construction teams
- Willing to provide back-to-back and /or Leave cover for other supervisory functions
