Performs Traffic & Logistics responsibilities in support of project requirements to ensure the safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods to meet project requirements.

A. Supervision Received

  • Reports to and receives operational direction from the Project Procurement Manager or Traffic & Logistics Supervisor, if assigned.
  • Receives functional guidance from the global business unit Traffic & Logistics Manager.

C. Contacts

  • Maintains close working relationships with other disciplines within the project procurement team.
  • Maintains contacts with operational personnel within material/equipment and service provider organizations to ensure project responsibilities are carried out effectively.
  • Maintains contacts with government regulatory agency personnel as necessary to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Maintains contact with Traffic & Logistics (T&L) industry sources and information resources to remain informed of industry trends, tools and best practices.




  1. Coordinates shipments with requisite internal and external entities to ensure the safe and timely delivery of materials and equipment from supplier’s delivery point to T&L service provider’s facilities or to Bechtel jobsite.
  2. Ensures timely entry of shipment milestone data into Bechtel Procurement System (BPS) to provide visibility of line item shipment status.
  3. Assists in preparation of T&L milestone reports or performance metrics as required to satisfy project information requirements.
  4. Ensures timely processing of T&L service provider invoices in accordance with project procedures, T&L service provider agreements, and corporate payment procedures.
  5. Assists in identifying transport cost and service alternatives to support materials/equipment purchase decisions and use of T&L service providers.
  6. Assists the project T&L lead as requested.
  7. Assists with filing and resolution of T&L service provider claims.
  8. Assists with preparation of T&L service provider bid tabs, commitment authorizations and contract documents within the scope of Bechtel policies and procedures.
  9. Assists with preparation of logistics studies including site and T&L service provider facility visits.
  10. Integrates safety requirements and measures in all Traffic & Logistics activities.  


Possesses a level of proficiency that is consistent with the salary grade determination (listed below), as follows:

  • Bechtel and Supply Chain instructions, policies, and procedures
  • Bechtel Traffic and Logistics procedures (Supply Chain College)
  • T&L service provider pricing, services, and terms and conditions
  • Bechtel T&L corporate agreements
  • BPS T&L module
  • Bechtel procedures and instructions for compliance with governmental regulations affecting the movement of goods and technology
  • Bechtel standard issue office technology software (e.g. word processing, spreadsheets, presentations) and Internet/Intranet navigation
  • Bechtel cargo insurance requirements
  • Industry packing, marking, and shipping requirements
  • Importing and exporting formalities and processes
  • Domestic and international trade and delivery terms

Position for Quebrada Blanca Fase 2 Project Iquique, Port, Pipeline or Concentrator, Chile. With the purpose of being accredited to perform in the field, the position will begin in Santiago until receiving the corresponding authorization and then will move to the field as soon as possible to join the respective shift.

Salary will be based on current market rates and the posted grade will not be adjusted to suit the successful candidate.
