Role Overview 

  • Originate and check structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions.
  • Reviews and coordinates technical documents with/from other engineering disciplines.
  • Prepare technical reports related to specific design issues.
  • Provide technical direction to designers.
  • Participate in technical meetings and perform intra-discipline coordination.
  • Assist in constructability reviews

 

Basic Qualifications 

  • BS in structural/civil engineering from an accredited university or college, and 1 year progressive related experience 
  • BS/MS should emphasize structural analysis and design of steel and concrete structures
  • Passed the Engineer in Training (EIT) exam or obtain EIT within 12 months of hire date
  • US citizen with no dual citizenship from any country

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Work experience for BS/MS should be directly related to the detailed design of steel and concrete structures
  • Possess a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance or can obtain one upon hire
  • Proficiency in the use of GTStrudl
  • Ability to express technical issues in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbally 
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and MathCad 
  • Understands work processes of other disciplines and departments on project
  • Knowledgeable in application of the AISC Construction Manual, ASCE 7, and IBC codes
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DoD related projects
  • Have a US PE license
  • Experience with CADD applications, such as AutoCad 
  • Experience with methods of construction for steel and concrete structures  
  • Willingness to relocate after assignment completion
