Position Summary

Responsible for the overall execution of the Supply Chain department on a project in Bechtel's Manufacturing & Technology division. This role includes, timely staffing, communication, KPI monitoring and reporting, risk identification and resolution, and closely collaborating with the customer team. Responsible for supervision of supply chain professionals, material managers, buyers, expediters and data automation. Will be the primary contact with customer management. Will take primary responsibility for the successful purchasing and expediting of materials and services. Will receive operational supervision and guidance from the M&T Supply Chain Functional Lead. Will maintain relationships with suppliers at a senior level.

 

Responsibilities

  • Attends weekly customer meetings and collects and distributes weekly workload to buyers and expediter.
  • Keeps management abreast of progress on a weekly basis.
  • Plans, develops, coordinates and reviews Procurement work within a discipline on project(s).
  • Manages workload distribution for up to 20 buyers and expediters.
  • Coordinates and interfaces with the day-to-day work of project team members.
  • Prepares execution plans, budget estimates, and procedures in accordance with project or M&T functional scope and implements accordingly.
  • Accumulates and maintains data for reporting of metrics and billing.
  • Performs due diligence surveys and negotiations as requested.
  • Stays abreast with current events and changing economic conditions such as market trends, lead time indexes, base material price and availability fluctuations, currency fluctuations, and supply chain issues concerning specialized M&T equipment and materials.
  • Reviews and approves key Procurement deliverables within assigned function as requested.
  • Coordinates assigned work with other project(s) sites.
  • Provides on-the-job training to Procurement specialists as required.
  • Handles the oversight of buying and expediting of critical packages.
  • Interfaces with critical suppliers and handles problem orders promptly.
  • Travels as needed to project sites and/or supplier shops.
  • Manages and defines dashboard metrics (KPIs).
  • Responsible for the development of the team, including performance reviews.

 

Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 15 years of Supply Chain experience.
  • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • Master’s degree.(Preferred)

 

Additional Qualifications

  • Direct experience in supervision, managing workload distribution and execution of the work.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • EPC procurement experience.
  • Experience purchasing critical path equipment and materials.
  • Completes performance reviews, staffing plans, and budgeting/costing.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven track record in successful order management.
  • Maintains strong market knowledge of the best sources, pricing trends and latest technological developments.
  • Ability to work closely within a fast-paced client organization.
  • Ability to integrate to client work process and procedures.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 20% of time as needed.
  • Familiarity with unique state-of-the-art technology, specialized suppliers of systems, equipment and materials in Manufacturing and Technology.
  • Experience in Semiconductors, Data Centers, and/or the EV value chain.
  • Skilled in the use of Digital Supply Chain in multiple modules.
  • Strong data analytics skills a plus.
  • Subcontracts experience.
