Position Summary
• Prepares environmental engineering deliverables relating to regulatory compliance, air emissions and water/wastewater treatment.
• Prepares, coordinates, and reviews designs, studies, reports and proposals.
• Takes the initiative to coordinate the design development of a system with other engineering disciplines while managing workload and meeting schedule due dates.
• Knowledgeable of and performs standard discipline engineering activities on projects with minimal technical oversight.
Responsibilities
• Managing of environmental engineering scope such as industrial wastewater and water treatment or drainage.
• Developing environmental design basis, process flow diagrams and equipment datasheets.
• Reviewing permit material for air and effluent emission compliance.
• Attendance of key meetings such as P&IDs review, HAZOP, and 3D model review and providing environmental input.
• Compiling technical lists and inventories such as emissions and effluents summaries.
• Ensuring that projects are in compliance with state, federal, and country environmental regulations.
Qualifications and Skills
Basic Qualifications
• A recognized degree in environmental, chemical or mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Excellent knowledge of technical theory, engineering principles, good engineering practices and how to apply them for design execution.
• Familiarity with major regulations and industry codes and standards affecting standard design, quality, or processes.
• Professional Engineer license (PE), or willingness to complete.
Additional Qualifications
• Experience within the EPC industry and with large-scale project execution.
• Experience in assessing air emissions from industrial sources.
• Experience in the design of water/wastewater systems.
Relevant industrial experience in facilities such as the following would be beneficial:
• Gas Processing and LNG
• Industrial wastewater treatment units
• Energy Transition (hydrogen production, CCS, methanol synthesis etc)
• Petrochemicals
• Refining
• Desalination plants
