Project Overview:
Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.
Job Summary:
As a Project Accounting Supervisor, the successful candidate will report directly to the Project Accounting Manager for all activities associated with the Financial Scope of the Louisiana LNG Project and functional guidance from the Energy Financial Services Manager.
Duties will include having a full understanding of the financial requirements of the client contract and procedures and work processes necessary to support the project's activities and ensure compliance with internal(Bechtel) and external (GAAP) requirements as well as client's regulatory requirements associated with contract commercial terms.
The position requires the ability to maintain confidentiality with a strong ethical behavior in workplace practices, a customer-service orientation with a demonstrated professional demeanor and communication style, flexibility, and commitment to meeting deadlines.

Major Responsibilities:
- Establishes administrative controls for all accounting functions in accordance with established Bechtel policies and procedures, stakeholder requirements, and applicable local governmental regulations.
- Managing the customer invoicing process for the project.
- Coordinating with the Service Center Billing Organization and Project Team Stakeholders to ensure quality and timely client billing delivery
- Oversees the preparation of internal, external and regulatory reports related to project financial operations on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis as required.
- Ongoing review of unbilled cost transactions, unit rate transactions and account reconciliations to ensure that all costs are billed timely, that any held items are addressed promptly, and that all transactions are properly categorized per the contract billing terms
- Implementation and ongoing improvement of billing controls and processes with an eye to ensuring compliance and meeting deadlines.
- Frequently interacts with customers on several topics and issues related to internal and external audits and other transactional groups (e.g., A/P, Billing, Payroll).
- Manages financial reporting and analysis on a GBU project.
- Manages and supervises project accounting team members.
- Other tasks as directed by Supervisor on Project or the FSM
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires a thorough knowledge of professional accounting and/or financial concepts and principals
- Requires a working knowledge of computer systems, Microsoft Office, and software operations as applied to the accounting and related functions
- Requires demonstrated skill in using independent judgement to achieve assigned responsibilities
- Self-motivated and able to work under pressure, focus on details, and provide extra effort to meet priorities and deadlines with minimum supervision
- Requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree and a minimum of 6-8 years of relevant experience or 10-12 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Above average organizational skills with the ability to function in a matrix organization and simultaneously handle numerous tasks of varying degrees of complexity
- Able to work independently or as part of a team and use good judgment in the execution of assigned tasks including the ability to seek direction as needed
- Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Prior Oracle Financials experience and proficiency with MS office suite
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Requires working knowledge of project accounting systems, organization, and procedures.
