Job Summary:
Bechtel is seeking an Instructor for the Energy team, based in US. Position will be responsible for the Skills Verification Testing Program, Construction Craft Professional training, and Practical exams on the project. Primarily the verification and training of Craft skills include, but not limited to: Pipe, Electrical, Scaffolding, Millwright-Boilermaker, Carpentry, Concrete, Rebar, Structural Iron, and Rigging. Will provide training to Craft Professionals and provide input to Workforce Development programs and procedures. #LI-TH1

Major Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement scaffolding training programs for new and existing employees
- Design and deliver training materials, including presentations, handouts, and assessments
- Conduct on-site training sessions to demonstrate proper scaffolding techniques and safety procedures
- Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback to help improve their skills and knowledge
- Collaborate with management to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance training programs
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulations to ensure training programs are current and relevant
- Ensure all training materials and equipment are maintained and kept up-to-date
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to employees to ensure they can safely and effectively use scaffolding equipment
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Extensive experience in scaffolding and related safety procedures
- Ability to teach and train others in scaffolding techniques and best practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey information and provide feedback
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards related to scaffolding
- Ability to create and deliver training materials, including presentations and hands-on exercises
- Ability to assess trainee performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement
- Flexibility to adapt training methods to accommodate different learning styles and skill levels
- Certification as a scaffolding instructor or equivalent experience preferred
- Advanced ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications for bespoke scaffold designs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of local and international safety standards, such as OSHA 1926 Subpart L, ensuring all training aligns with legal requirements.
- Subject matter expertise in multiple scaffolding types, including Tube and Fitting, System Scaffolding (e.g., Layher, Peri, Cuplock), and specialized suspended or mobile units.
- Expert-level skill in developing Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and Method Statements specifically for high-risk work at height.
- Mastery of scaffold inspection procedures (Green Tag/Red Tag systems) and the ability to identify subtle structural defects or non-compliant modifications.
- Proficiency in technical rescue techniques, including the use of high-angle rescue kits and the management of suspension trauma protocols.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
