Job Summary:

Bechtel is seeking a Resource Planning Coordinator to join our Bechtel Houston office. The coordinator will support Functional Management for Supply Chain and Project Controls.  This position is responsible for analyzing staffing progress, identifying gaps, and identifying redeployment opportunities. Critical interfaces include Talent Acquisition, HR personnel and Functional Management. Resource planning includes redeployment of employees when projects complete, increasing resources when additional scope is added to ongoing projects, and planning resource needs for future projects. This role requires a great deal of flexibility, diplomacy, and initiative to bridge between project needs, functional engagement, and the many HR processes, Business Partners, and Talent Acquisition personnel.  This role is integral to ensuring our standard tools are used to support staffing large-scale Engineering and Construction projects and will require organization in managing daily priorities with focus on detail and data integrity. This role will have a high level of customer service interaction with internal and external customers.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Works with Supply Chain and Project Controls Functional Managers to verify requirements. 
  • Initiates and posts job requisitions for hire of internal and external candidates. 
  • Coordinates with recruiters to identify networking opportunities to source candidates including professional organizations and industry events. 
  • Coordinates with the project teams and Talent Acquisition to manage personnel actions. 
  • Develops and maintains skills and competency assessments for Supply Chain personnel.  Implements a program to organize, assign and track progress of onboarding, training and development plans. 
  • Maintains resumes for key leadership positions which may be incorporated into project proposals. 
  • Maximizes use of Human Resource reporting tools for maintenance of employee records. 
  • Reviews standard reporting and initiates appropriate actions to assure accuracy in reporting.    
  • Prepare reports and information to help Functional Managers and Resource Coordinators effectively allocate resources for Energy projects 
  • Train new managers and project teams on their resource planning responsibilities and how to use SmartStaff, dashboards, etc. to monitor staffing progress.
  • Identify gaps and take action to support resource management i.e., aging of hiring processes, new project ramp-up obstacles, project management team gaps.
  • Maintain staffing contacts through the Alumni network and other networking systems.
  • Prepare information and/or support functional staffing calls with management and participate in global project staffing calls to provide internal staffing updates.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8+ years of relevant experience or 12+ years of overall experience in lieu of a degree Skill in internal and external communications.  

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Customer service oriented. 
  • Advanced level experience with MS Office suite. 
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize & meet multiple individual and team deadlines in a fast paced, changing, dynamic work environment, with strong attention to detail. 
  • Willingness to familiarize with HR procedures and policies to provide guidance to Supply Chain personnel. 
  • Skill in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions and outlining action to be performed.  Skill in the preparation and presentation of oral and written reports.    
  • Preferred experience with HR processes and procedures, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Performance management.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work schedules to provide responsive support to deployed personnel.
  • Results oriented and able to work independently with strong sense of initiative.
