Project Overview:

Driftwood LNG is a greenfield LNG export terminal located on an approximate 700-acre plot on the Calcasieu River due south of Sulphur, Louisiana. The project will be permitted for a nominal 26 MTPA LNG facility based on 20 liquefaction units of 1.3 MTPA each, divided into five LNG plants with four units in each LNG plant (each four unit LNG plant hereafter a “Plant”). The Project will also include three 235,000m³ full containment LNG tanks and three marine loading jetties that will support ships with capacity of up to 216,000m³. All plants will be built direct hire by Bechtel. Bechtel is staffing for project LNTP works as authorized by Tellurian.      The position is based in Houston, Texas.     

 

Job Summary:

Performs tasks involved in the formation and administration of purchase orders. Communicates with suppliers and personnel within Bechtel to establish clear definition of requirements, and to assure performance to purchase order terms and conditions. Prepares bidder pre-qualification, bidder lists, bid solicitation, bid analysis, makes commitments and administers purchase orders. Performs expediting activities to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment to meet project needs.    

 

This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.#LI-CS1

 

Job Dimensions:

A.     Supervision Received:

  • Reports to and receives operational direction from the Purchasing Supervisor and/or assigned supervisor. At jobsite locations, reports to and receives operational direction from the Project Field Procurement Manager.

B.    Contacts:

  • Maintains working relationships with project Supply Chain personnel and project discipline personnel in order to perform assigned duties. Maintains working relationships with bidders and suppliers involved with the performance of assigned tasks.   

 

Major Responsibilities:   

  • Performs tasks involved in the formation and administration of purchase orders. Communicates with suppliers and personnel within Bechtel to establish clear definition of requirements, and to assure performance to purchase order terms and conditions. 
  • Prepares bidder pre-qualifications, bidder lists, negotiation plans, bid solicitations, bid analysis, award recommendations and commitments, including aspects of purchase order administration. 
  • Understands and executes work in accordance with the project sourcing strategy, compliance to the Project's Approved Manufacturers List, project financing considerations, and respective tariff and quota risk. 
  • Accountable to ensure appropriate approval authorities are obtained prior to executing commitments. 
  • Accountable to the project schedule to include planning and executing own work during the pre-award phase of purchase orders and post award change management of orders.
  • Communicates with suppliers and personnel within Bechtel to establish clear definition of requirements and to assure supplier performance to the obligations within the purchase order.
  • Identifies, defines and secure agreement regarding purchase order changes. Informs or works with other project procurement personnel assigned to the administration of the order.  
  • Responsible for assigned orders from development through closure, to include engagement through purchase requisition development, the acquisition and delivery of purchases, and order closeout; including supporting management of back-charges and claims.   
  • Participates in pre- and post-award meetings to review and discuss schedules and potential problem areas that may impact required delivery dates.
  • Establishes files and controls for all outgoing and incoming commercial correspondence on each assigned order.    

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

Level 1

  • A University graduate with up to 1 year of experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience

Level 2

  • A University graduate with up to 2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience
