Project Overview:
Energy’s Project Controls Functional team is adding a staff position for a project controls engineer who will support multiple projects and prospects. This is a great opportunity to work with a small high-performance team in a fast-paced environment.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for analysis and cost control activities for which require a high degree of technical skill. You will assist in cost studies, cost reporting, and other requirements necessary for cost control. You will perform schedule development, maintenance, and monitoring activities, as directed. Your detailed analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges.

Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.” #LI-CS1
Major Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons
- Prepare specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures
- Assist in the development of different cost reports, prepare and verify consistency with previously issued reports
- Collect and classify historical cost data, update and maintain data presented in Power BI dashboards
- Direct interface with management and field teams as necessary for schedule control monitoring, analysis and reporting
- Update and maintain project schedule data base information
- Assist discipline groups in finding what information is required from other disciplines to assist schedule activities
- Assist with development of proposal, FEL, pre-FEED and FEED schedules as required (Levels 1, 2 and 3 schedules)
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Business Administration, or equivalent experience
- Verbal and written communication skills to present data and analysis to Project Controls, other groups, Bechtel Management and Client Management
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency with multiple software applications currently used in Bechtel (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, Power BI)
- Experience in Primavera P6 planning Software
- Experience in Ecosys, DSCS and/or Aconex desirable
- Knowledge of engineering and construction management processes
- Ability to support multiple efforts simultaneously, perform in a multi-tasking environment
- Skilled in oral and written communication
