OTS (Operator Training Simulator) Lead Engineer for Process Engineering Advanced Simulation Group in Bechtel Energy, Inc.

 

Position Summary and Responsibilities

  • The Lead Engineer will participate in all aspects of OTS development.
  • The Lead Engineer will develop specifications, interface with the client and other engineering groups, develop and implement high fidelity dynamic process simulation, integrate the process model with control, safety and third-party systems, and participate in testing with client and deliver the OTS system to site.
  • The Lead Engineer will also develop schedules and plan resources for execution of OTS projects.
  • The Lead Engineer could also be called to conduct dynamic process simulation for solving process and control problems relating to engineering design and startup support.
  • Mentors and train junior engineers by providing on-the-job training for their professional development.
  • Promotes creation of a work environment, supported by leadership, which fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, innovation, and satisfaction.

 

Qualifications and Skills

Basic Skills

  • Chemical Engineer with Bachelor’s degree, and a minimum 7-10 years’ experience in full life cycle development of OTS and/or dynamic simulation environment in a leading capacity.
  • Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred.

 

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with DCS from Honeywell, Emerson, Yokogawa and ABB will be a plus.
  • Candidate should have a good understanding of primary hydrocarbon industry processes and preferably has experience in Liquefied Natural Gas and refrigeration processes.
  • Candidate should demonstrate capability and experience of performing the above job dduties through prior experience.
